Although I am not a doctor or nurse, I've worked in the area for the last 15 years. I love researching and trying new technologies. Since I heard about Profound, I started looking up for videos, before and after, etc. Since its pretty new, there isn't that much info out there, but combining micro-needling with radio-frequency made so much sense to me. I went to see Dr. Gottenger and the first thing I liked about his office is that he's got most of the newest technologies in the market. He has so many sources to treat his patients that it's almost imposible you get out of his office without a solution. I had there concerns: Cellulite and firmness in my thighs, fat and sagging skin in my arms/bra line and facial skin tightening. At first I thought we would have to use different technologies, but this equipment targets both of my main concern: cellulite and tightening. This device uses two different tips to target either fat and cellulite (longer needles) or skin tightening (short and diagonal needles).
Dr. Gottenger set 2 appointments for the treatments. I had legs and arms done the first day, and two weeks after we did the face.
My legs took around 2 hours and my arms close to one. The doctor used the long needle tip called SubQ for fat and cellulite on my legs. The most uncomfortable part is definitely the local anesthesia. It is not that it is really painful, but the area is so large you kinda get irritated by so many injections. Once the area is numbed, the procedure isn't painful and the doctor always can add a little more anesthesia if u feel discomfort. I was bruised for 2 weeks. I used Arnica Gel and Cream 3 times a day on the treated area. No pain at all.
Dr Gottenger used both tips for my arms. First, he did the SubQ to target the fat and then the Derm for tightening. I spent around 4 hours total at the doctor's office. They went very fast. The staff there is amazing, they truly made me feel well taken care of. They are both very human and professional. As the equipment technician (who happened to be watching my procedure) said "You got the Rolls Royce of the treatments". They really went into details with my arms and legs.
Two weeks later I went for the face which was my biggest concern in terms of post treatment. I'd seen some scary post treatment pictures and I was worried I would bruise too much. I started taken Arnica 3 weeks before (1 week prior to legs and arms). This helped a lot I guess because I only had little bruising around my lips. Same wonderful experience with the doctor and staff. 36 Hours later I reached my max swelling peak. I honestly didn't expect to be that swollen, it was as if I had my wisdom teeth taken all out at the same time. Still no bruising.
Its been 4 days since my face procedure... I look so much better. I think it would take 2 more days to look normal. The skin still has that "goosebumps" look from the needles. I am using Arnica cream (I think gel has a little alcohol in it) twice in the day and La Mer night cream at night.
