It took me a year to realize "Mom" isn't the exact wording i would like on my body (Upper Right Side Torso / Ribs) for the rest of my life. So i decided to try out the Picosure and post my experience and the healing process. The whole visit took about an hour and the actual procedure took about 4 minutes. The pain from 1-10 was a 7. Its true what they say, just like a series of hard rubber band snaps. The procedure was Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 at 4:00 pm. I've been keeping it moist with Aquaphorm and Cortizone 10 Cream. Wrapping it with gauze and paper tape. Last night i kept an ice pack on it and this morning i woke up and went to work at 8am. Surprisingly, still not as much pain as i thought though. But i know the worst is yet to come. Hope my experiences can help some of you out. Feel free to ask me anything

Congrats for getting started and good luck with everything! How many treatments did they estimate you'd need?

Since yours is relatively new, did your dr. say it would be more difficult or easier to remove? I hear a lot of people saying new is harder to remove, but I read a study that was published in 2013 that found that if it's less than 36 months old, it is actually easier because it hasn't had time to settle into the deeper layers of skin. I'm just trying to find anyone who has had experience with a new tattoo...like a year or less. I just want to know what I may be getting into. Thanks and good luck with your removal!

Dr. Simon told me it would be easier because its a newer tattoo, he estimated anywhere from 4-6 treatments of the Pico , the Pico plan costed me $1,200 for 5 treatments. Im healing remarkably well thankyou , plus i didnt even get any blisters like ive seen mostly everyone get. Pictures coming up tomorrow (:

Good to know! There is a lot of conflicting info about that..and I'm sure not quite as many people go for removal with a really new tattoo...so I look forward to seeing how yours goes. It looks great so far!

I've seen some good results from Dr. Simon's office; I'm considering removal w/ picosure as well and am inclined to go to Miami for tx. Excited to see your progress.

How old is your tattoo? A year? If so, I am also getting a brand new tattoo removed with picosure. It is just short of three weeks old and I have my consultation this Friday. I have heard mixed opinions on new ink removal but I am hopeful with the progress of yours and it has only been a couple of days! congrats!

Yeahh a year and 3 months to be exact, i went ahead and skipped my consultation and dove straight into the procedure hoping for the best. But being black ink, i was told by the doctor that it would be the least complicated. What color is your tattoo ?

My tattoo is also black ink. I know they say it is easiest to remove but since my tattoo is so new and dense, I am having doubts.
