Hello,
My name is Yoima Enriquez, I am a patient of Dr. Okpaku. I have struggled with a weight problem all my life, going up and down like yo-yo… lol. Well, also 2 pregnancies, my first pregnancy I gained a little over 110 lbs getting me all the way to +/- 260 lbs, dieting and somewhat exercising got back down to 190 lbs (still being overweight). My second pregnancy I got back up to 270 lbs, this time around I never lost the weight. At the contrary I gained even more getting to my highest at 320 lbs. Getting to this point it was not only esthetics, it was more life threatening. I had a series of health issues (e.i: HBP, diabetes, beginning of sleep apnea… countless more). I made a life changing decision, and after having gastric bypass in February of 2010, I lost a total of 160 lbs. Yes, I was a different person and all my health issues where gone. BUT… Yes!! A big BUT!!, I was left with all this hanging skin, which was also beginning to be another health issue to me. I had to carry all of it inside an agonizing girdle for approximately 1 year, this was hurting my back (which by the way, I also have scoliosis), my shoulders in agonizing pain day after day and the tightness of it was causing for various veins to come out. This is where my COSMETIC ANGEL Dr. O comes in my story, yes he made this happen, and he has removed 16lbs of skin. My surgery was only 2 weeks ago; according to him I’m still yet to see the final results. But I tell Ya!!!! Waoooooo Dr. OOOO is the best!!!…. Simply, The Best of The Best!!!!

Karina, she was my patient coordinator and she made this happen for me. She gave me my first quote on March of 2011. Since then, we have been going back and forth trying to make this happen economically (for me it has been very hard since I’m a working class, living on a paycheck to paycheck). What can I say; there are no words to thank Ocean View Plastic Surgery for helping me with the financing.
After following a very strict and healthy diet and exercise regimen, it was time to get ready for surgery and after that, the recovery. My surgery was a success, according to my husband Dr. Okpaku came out of the OR with a huge smile on his face explaining to him what a great result I was going to have, and what a success it had been.
Yes, I had 6 procedures. This included a total mommy makeover with full body lift, and belectomy.
The reason why I put my trust and life on his hands was because I did a lot of research and had many disappointing consultations and being a patient who had gastric bypass, I do not heal the same way any other patient did. Dr. O had the experience, knowledge, and is also board certified. Most important of all conducted this kind of procedure at a hospital, not at rinky-dink back office… lol
But what I liked the most is that Dr. O together with his staff (Cristina, the best!!) who were not only concerned with the final results but also extremely apprehensive with my safety, and super caring. They are just a great team, devoted to their job. My surgery was at Mercy Hospital, the anesthesiologist and nurses there are awesome too!!
All I can say is that words cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation of how grateful I am for this whole experience. Wouldn’t have had it another way!!!
