BBL Update - Sadly disappointed
$4,600
BBL was July 2016. My results are not good. I knew the day after sx that the left buttock was not shaped good but Dr. Ortega said "give it time". The time never came. It looks awful (even in jeans). It's bad enough that I ended up with an infection but to have the results I have makes it so much worse. I have cellulite so I didnt expect total perfection but I did not expect to look like 2 different people on each side. I look at it every day and it makes me regret my decision constantly.

Going Through it
Ok so this coming Friday will will make 5 wks post-op. My butt is still just as lop-sided and the left side just as lumpy as it was 1 day post-op. Last week I developed a hard spot that I thought was necrosis. It was about the size of a golf ball. A couple of days later it was the size of my hand. I went to the ER Sunday (after not hearing back from my surgeon or anyone in the office. I'm not calling Spectrum anymore). I was admitted for 2 nights. They said I was "extremely infected". I had surgery to drain it. I came home last night. I'm in lots of pain. I regret having the surgery. I will be out of work for 1-2 weeks. Further labwork is being conducted to determine what type of infection there was. A visiting nurse is coming daily to change the dressing (VERY painful). That's all.

Yes it was seroma. Now I'm out of work again on pain meds from going into surgery to drain. Sorry to scare you but I think we want to know the good and bad which is why I posted. What are you having done?

So sorry this has happen to you TheNewMe617 with all surgery there are risk. But this is also why you should be able to get in touch with them. Win_dee don't be scared like I said with all surgeries there are risk even if you change to a different surgeon. I don't want to say you just hope for the best but do as much research as you can and look up any information just in case it happens to you. No one likes to think about it but it could happen.

Yes all surgeries come with risk and we definitely hope for the best. I did lots of research but things just didn't go the way I wanted. But that's just my story. I met a young lady who had surgery with him the day before me and had great results. She is still happy so far.

Do you thinks it's possible you will have a nice outcome or would you do a revision?

Still hoping for the best but honestly at the rate of change I've seen so far I doubt it. No. After having this infection and going through the additional pain I'm all set. I was planning on a tummy tuck in Dec (woth another doctor) but that's probably not going to happen either. The 103 degree temp and infection scared me.

To be honest in my opinion tummy tucks and breast is his speciality I have done so much research on him I could probably do my own tuck however Some if his bbl's are good and i say some loosely they are not the best in my eyes However Dr Ghurani in same office is a beast with bbl's Dr Ghurani even charge more than Dr Ortega. Again just my opinion.

You're right. I did read tummy tucks were his specialty and I saw a few ppl Ghurani did bbl's on while I was there and they all looked amazing. Unfortunateky

Posted too quick..... I only met and spoke with several ppl who had great BBL outcomes with Ortega and I thought I made the right choice. But both myself and my friend left unhappy and hoping for the best.

Oh boy. I hope you feel better soon. I was considering dr. O for lipo only bc I don't have the recovery time for a bbl with being a sahm of 5 yr old and 2 yr old. Ill keep you in prayer.

Unfortunately ot has gotten worse for me. Another area on my butt opened up on its own so I now have 2 open wounds. And another hard painful spot has developed. The doctor will re-examine on Wed to determine if she now needs to go into that one to drain. As of now I have been out of work for 2 wks and will be out another week or 2...

Still swollen, still pretty sore
Ok so I've been trying not to update until I saw more change. Other than a little less swelling I still look the same. I wish I could say I'm totally satisfied but so far I'm not. My left cheeck is still uneven. It's smaller than the right side and the lower half of it isn't full... at all. Sx was 7/29 these pics are 8/11. I'm trying to be patient as I know it takes time but I don't think this partucular uneven problem will change. It's better than where I started but I was hoping for better results. Hopefully they will come. Oh and I do visible see my stomach getting smaller. I've been wearing this hard uncomfortable compression board regularly as suggested. Dr. Ortega said if I wear it religiously over the next couple of months I will not need a tummy tuck. We'll see...
