1 month post op pics

Scars are looking really red but that is to be expected at this point in healing. The thicker areas are where I've spit a few stiches.

4 weeks post op updates

I have been super lucky to have had no complications thus far. At 1 month post op I am no longer wearing any kind of compression. Logically I know that it reduces swelling but my experience hasn't been reflective of this. I took my own drains out at 12 days post op and felt 100 times better.

I am feeling pretty good but still very tight in skin and muscle. My breasts feel 100% but my midsection is still somewhat numb, swollen and uncomfortable.

Although I am happy so far with my results, I have had no follow up care from my surgeon or the office staff-I live in another country but expected a call or at least an email. These are 2 weeks post op- I will post some new pics next week.

This week I underwent a tummy tuck and breast...

This week I underwent a tummy tuck and breast augmentation at Spectrum aesthetics with Dr. Ortega. I have been wanting to get these procedures done for quite some time now and alhough i am still super swollen, am pleased with my results so far. I chose Dr. Ortega based on years of experience, realself reviews and before/after pictures. Because of the numerous bad reviews about Spectrum staff and co ordinators, I came into this with very low expectations but willing to accept it as a trade off for price and and a skilled surgeon with before/after pics that I was excited about.

I did see a lot of girls that had been double (even triple) booked in the waiting rooms and while I can attest to an obvious lack of organization within the office staff, I was never treated poorly. Dr. Ortega did a great job, from what I can tell so far, my only complaint is that I was given zero post op instructions and that my post op visit was with a nurse. I wanted to ask the Dr. Specifics about my surgery, only I fly home tomorrow, and seeing him before then is not possible. Because I came here from out of town, I had the choice to stay in a hotel or a recovery house for the week. If you are weighing out these options, let me tell you that a recovery house is the way to go! I stayed with Yanay from Miami recovery house and am so glad that I did. I was referred to her from Spectrum and so the cost was included in my procedure. For about $100 a day I was picked up from the airport and brought to my pre op appointment. Because my surgery ended up being so early in the morning the day, Janay called ahead to the house and had dinner made up for me so that I could eat in time, before the pre op fast. All meals and snacks are included in the price and everyone takes really good care of you. There was a mini fridge in my room that was stocked with water, juice and snacks.

They made sure I was up and got me to my surgery the next day and we're there to pick me up when I was done. Let me tell you, when you wake up from anesthesia is ROUGH. You will be happy to have people there to take care of you. I brought my own supplies; bandages, gauze, tape, etc. But Janay supplies s lot of that here at the house. Because I had the tt, laying flat or standing straight wasn't an option for me and the house has these love electric recliner chairs that help to get you up and down, without straining your core. Interestingly enough, my boobs never hurt at all (375cc hp silicone) but my stomach KILLED. It's nice to have someone that is on top of your meds for you, you don't want to miss a dose and wake up hurting. I am leaving soon to fly back home and am really glad that I chose to stay here over a hotel. When you factor in cost for food transportation ( miami recovery staff will take to to and from the airport and to all of your appointments at the surgical center) you ate not saving any money at a hotel-or if you do it may not be the nicest or coziest! I want to recover in a beautiful, clean and quiet environment. Miami recovery is all of these these things and everyone working here is very sweet and will go out of their way to make you comfortable. If you are coming from out of town, you should definitely stay here. I don't think the Web site is up yet, as I was referred from Spectrum
