I wanted to get rid of a little extra belly pooch...
I wanted to get rid of a little extra belly pooch I was holding onto before my summer wedding that is coming up in August. My wedding dress is a corset style fashion and requires non existent body fat haha. I finally mustered up the courage to see Dr. Hasan whom my mom had done her breast aug with and was super pleased with.
Dr. Hasan recommended an 8 area abdominal & lower back liposculpture. I just had the procedure yesterday & I'm feeling good. The worst part of the day was the fast. I ate dinner on Monday night at 7PM and didn't eat again til I had a smoothie on Tuesday night at 9PM. That included no water which was so hard for me! After I checked in at noon at Vanity Cosmetic Surgery Center I waited for about an hour before having a nurse take a urine sample and give me my surgical gown. After that I met with the anesthesiologist and he asked me questions about my medical history and added in an IV with saline water. After about another hour hooked up to the IV, Dr. Hasan came and marked my areas and took some more before pictures.
After getting marked I went into the operating room, took off my gown, & the nurse put the yellowish iodine all over my abdomen. I laid down on the bed and then the anesthesiologist put me to sleep. I woke up in the recovery room and was shivering. The nurse came over removed my oxygen mask, gave me another blanket, and made sure I knew my name and where I was. She then told me she was going to go to the waiting room and let my fiance know everything went well. When she came back she cleaned off my areas with gauze and put on my compression garment. This was the first time I felt some real pain be cause I had to roll over on my side so she could put the garment on. After that she put on a clean loose fitting maxi dress I had in my bag and stood me up. Holding on to her hands I took some small steps and felt the pain diminish.
She sat me down on a reclining leather chair and brought me two blankets to keep me warm. I was still so cold! Finally I relaxed in the chair for another half hour or so and sipped on cold water. My fiance pulled the car around a.d the nurse brought over a wheelchair to take me to the car when I felt ready. I finally left the center at 7PM. I put the passenger side seat all the way back. I felt pain but not an unbearable amount. My fiance drove me to the pharmacy & picked up my prescriptions. While we waited he went to Smoothie King & got me a drink. Having something in my stomach felt good! I was prescribed an angibiotic, a nausea medication, and a pain killer.
Last night the hardest part was the drainage which was pretty gross. It's a bloody discharge so you have to put a ton of towels down on my bed. Thankfully my house is all on one level so I've been walking around to go to the bathroom by myself & I've been feeling much less pain. I'm waiting now to go to my check up and see myself without this bloody compression garment!

Provider Review
I loved Dr. Hasan! He was honest with me about expectations, pain, & the whole procedure. He gave me a breakdown of the whole process and I am currently experiencing very little inflammation and bloating after just one day post op.
