Hello everyone, Today I finally gave my deposit for my much needed BBL with Dr.Mendieta in a couple days. I am so excited and nervous at the same time, I have heard many different reviews and i am so confused as too what to expect, while I was there everyone was very nice and Dr.Mendieta seemed excited for my procedure I would love if anyone who's had this procedure done with him can give me any advice and what to expect.

Hello, I am also considering Dr. Mendieta. I would love to see your pictures. Pre and post.
I don't live in the United States, so my choice of doctor was long and heavily researched. Dr Mendieta did my bbl in February of this year and my results were fantastic. I only wish that I'd done it sooner. I was so impressed with his work that I chose to venture back for another procedure with him which took place last Wednesday, July 1.
The nurses and attendants were all very nice and did all that they could to make me comfortable. Dr Mendieta came in to just prior to the surgery to do a final consult and then the nurses took me into the OR where I was scrubbed down and prepped for surgery. I woke up with my garment on and a bit sore. I had 2 drains which I had to keep for a few days. I had the option of whether or not to go home with a catheter for the night which I chose to have removed there. As I became more alert, the pain started to set in so I had some extra pain and nausea meds just before leaving the recovery room. I slept for most of the remainder of the day, waking up only to take my pain meds. I found that if I took them every 4 hours, the pain was manageable.
I showered myself the next day which wasn't the smartest move as it hurt a lot and was quite difficult, especially getting the garment back on. Everything was good at my checkup that day. I was surprised by the amount of fluid draining, but was assured that it was normal. I took it easy for a couple of days but made a point to get up and walk around. My drains and stitches were removed 5 days post as I was flying home the following day. The bruising lasted for close to 3 weeks. I used the special pillow to sit for the next 2 months.
That was my first experience with liposuction and fat grafting. It took a lot out of me, but was well worth it.
Today has been 3 days since my second procedure. I'd decided in my 3 month follow up that I would like to have liposuction to my remaining trouble spots and have some of the fat transferred to my face and a bit more added to my rear for projection. The experience was much the same as the first except that I did not need drains this time. There was still a lot of fluid and I was very glad to have purchased a waterproof mattress pad, sheets, and pillow covers. I used maxi pads instead of gauze at the incision sites this time which I found to be much more comfortable and absorbent.
I'm feeling fine today save for a bit tired. I drove my caretaker to the airport this morning and have been out for groceries. Stitches come out on the 7th and I will fly home the next day.
The only advice that I have is to follow their instructions and keep as much weight off your rear as possible for the next couple of months so that the fat will survive. Sitting with the pillow and bracing yourself can be awkward (especially when driving) but on the plus side, it's great for toning the legs.
