Butt Implant/ Lipo Back, Fat Transfer

Wow! Well I would say I have wanted to do...

Wow! Well I would say I have wanted to do something about my backside for many years. I'm a 55 year old woman recently divorced and figured it's now or never. I had much encouragement from my daughter who had a brazillian butt lift 5 years ago and was happy with the results. I didn't have enough body fat and i cant gain weight easily so the butt implant was the only real option I feel I had. I worked with my cordinator by phone and after several months savings flew to miami and went for my consultation and went over the risk with my doctor and the very next mornig had the surgery. I'm 6 weeks post op and have returned to work but OMG this has been anguish, painful and not convenient in every sense of the word. I still cannot sit on my butt, sleep on my back and I have to be driven everywhere. Mostly I have to lay down in the car. The sensation in my butt and back is just weird and I can't stand to be touched. My backside is hard and tight as if a vice grip has me ...I bought the Miami Bootty pillow wjlhich fits under your thighs and your butt touches nothing. ( thank goodness I did, it's been a life saver for work.) But even so I can't sit even on that for too long or my buttock begins to cramp up and is painful. I am taking muscle relaxers and the doctor assures me that eventualy my body will relax and my implants will become just part of me. He did a fabulous job from a visual prospective with implant sizing and fat transfer from all over body where he could find it to transfer around the implant area and sides of my butt where I desperately needed it. My implants are under the muscle and im sure will take longer to heal. No complaints from that point. I definately did not want a huge butt, just a normal and pretty butt. My only complaint is that the AFTER CARE and DOWN TIME is not exactly talked about. I literally had No idea what I was getting into as far as RECOVERY. Because my job requires my full time attention it has been a strain on the company and on my finances because I've missed alot of work. However on the positive side if I can get back to normal feeling which I anticipate has to be hopefuly soon I think I will not regrett it but love it. I hope I get encouragement from people who have done this and can tell me when there body felt normal again.

My best advise is to be patient. I am 7 months out and am still getting used to things but I feel it is worth it once in a while I will get pains if I over do myself. I think you will feel more normal soon tho. Listen to your body and rest as much as possible when your body tells you to. Good luck feel better soon!

Hey how are you feeling now? Yes I heard recovery is harder with implants

hi Eileen! I was wondering who your doctor was. Also do you feel your implants have dropped and “fluffed”? Do you like to read in bed? if so do you use a boppy pillow now to sit up in bed? I’m just thinking ahead. I really need this surgery. I feel like I’m trying to be realistic by reading all of the butt reviews I can so I can know what to expect. I definitely see a pattern forming. it seems there are way more positive experiences from Dr Stantons’ patients than any other surgeon on here. I hope you keep getting better every day and I would get your tummy problem fixed with cool sculpting if I were you. I have used it on my arms and it worked like a charm! I just treated my flanks now so we shall see!

Dr. GERSHINBAUM our of Miami is my doctor. I can't feel my implants. Yes they have dropped and my butt has become softer. So I'm assuming that's the fluffing part I can lay on my back now and it dosent hurt but it feels like I'm laying on two wallets in my back pocket. I'm still restricted. I have to watch when u sit down still can't just plop down on a couch but rather ease into it.

Up date on my butt

eileenhrbgne
I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op. I can't sit down still as its just too uncomfortable .I am walking almost completely normal now though. My butt still is hard up high where implants were placed but bottom is soft where fat was transferd. I still can't lay on my back very well. Just for a minute or two max. I didn't get big implants 3rd from smallest they make as I have a small frame. I like how it looks but I still feel weird back there and can't stand to be touched anywhere on my butt or back where lipo was. Sex is challenging but managable. Uugh! I just wanot to feel normal again. No one really talks to me on here. I was hoping someone who's been through this would tell me it's going to be okay.. my incision has healed good.

Do people still get butt implants? My friend had that done 13 years ago before fat transfer was practiced. That was the old way of doing it. Now most doctors do bbl with just fat transfer, which heals faster and looks more natural.
August 27, 2017
Yes they do
I ddnot have enough fat to do ot. To hard for me to gain weight
September 3, 2017
Lol .i have no ideas they offer butt implants until a year ago!
Fat transfer is worthless unless you have ton of fat ! So even you lose weight your butt stay nice size . Otherwise you have to stay fat every where .

Not necessarily I didn't have a ton of fat but was able to gain 25 pounds in a year for my bbl, many of thinner women are getting it done and it's working well.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your experience thus far. I'm the same age as you and planning to get butt implants in December. I consulted with Dr. Mark Mofid in La Jolla, who recommended 330 rounds. This afternoon I have a phone consult scheduled with Dr. Ryan Stanton in Beverly Hills and am eager to hear what size/shape he recommends. I've read a ton of reviews here on RealSelf, but only a couple (yours included) in which the patient is our age. I don't think I can get more than three weeks off work, which seems adequate for most...so the fact that for you it's twice that long has me concerned. Wishing you a rapid turnaround and please continue to post! xo

I am hopeful that all will turn out good for me. I got the oval size 3 whatever that means.. just got my surgery report today which I was hoping would tell me more. I am getting better but Lordy my butt still is cramping and my doctor said the capsule is forming around implant for a good 8 weeks so I'm 7 weeks post oop today. I'll keep you updated

I can set for no more than 10 minutes at a time and carefully at that. Just plz get as much rest as you can
September 19, 2017
Just wondering if you have had surgery yet and if so how you are doing?

Hi, I decided to wait until next summer when I will be able to take an extended length of time off from work. In the meantime, I'm having BodyTite to my knees and to the back of my thighs on 11/20. Hope it's worth the $! I will post my experience. Thanks again for sharing yours - it's been so helpful. You're looking GREAT!

September 19, 2017
Hey doll, wondering how your doing?

The day of surgery, you had to walk around right? It's painful. Omg. The pressure.
I feel like it's bad right now to even move my butt muscle. Lol.
September 19, 2017
Yes it's aweful, but it will ease up day by day. You have a compression garment right?

September 23, 2017
Yes I do.
September 24, 2017
That's good, I thought I wanted out of mine untill I took it off! Then I felt weird and heaviness and body sensations that made me put it back on. I would wash my garment in the shower and wring it out then toss it in the dryrr. I would wrap a very long ace bandage around my body untill my garment came out of the dryer. IT FELT BETTER TO HOLD EVERYTHING IN PLACE FOR QUITE AWHILE. I finally removed it after 6 weeks. NOW I don't wear one at all anymore

Almost 8 weeks post op

eileenhrbgne
Hey , I'm hanging in there. At 8 weeks you kinda get to a I'm so over it stage. Sore neck, you just wana feel Normal again. I like so many have begun to depend on this correspondence to keep focused and keep the spirits up. I'm setting some now and still very sensitive to touch my butt. My low back and neck are very sore from laying on my tummy. I lay more and more on my sides now. I tolerated about 10 minutes on my back last night. The picket they say takes 8 weeks to heal so I'm very careful not to over due anything that might set me back. My honey can now lightly run his hands across my butt and I don't scream lol. So I'm improving each day. The tightness is there but I feel it starting to soften some now. At times its not so evident and other times as the muscle contracts it's still very evident. Can't wait for the day that it feels like it's just part of me. My butt was a complete wreck and flat with no shape so I'm definitely happy to have one now. I'll post pic, same panties as 1 month post op. I can see some changes in a few weeks. I had 500 cc of fatty transfer both sides over and around inplant. Especialy on sides where a botched liposuction job from many years ago had sunken my sides in. So for what I had to now the visual for me though not as beautiful as alot of women's on here. Is great results for me.

Yes I can see your filling out too, mine still look a bit tight.. can't wait till they fill out more to the side if it even happens.. Your butt looks good though and very natural.
September 19, 2017
Thank you. How are you doing as far as recovery?
September 14, 2017
Hello I wanted to ask you a question
September 19, 2017
Absolutely ask anything you want
September 20, 2017
How long would you say your down time is ? I hope you don't mind me asking but what's you height and weight . You said you got 500 cc correct I'm thinking of doing this procedure done as well but I'm scared of how much pain I will be in and I have a 7 year old daughter so I want to know the down time so I can get help with her.
September 24, 2017
I'm so sorry I missed your question earlier.. I'm 5 ft 6 and I weighed 136 lbs going in before surgery take 2 weeks off for sure.
September 24, 2017
Even though I went back to work after 2 weeks it was horrible and I had a lounge area with a bed and had to lie down multiple times during the day. Please prepare well for this. This is a very tough recovery. How old are you?

I wish I had transfer added to my hips cause when I lift my leg I can see a dent on each side which just looks odd. I'm still tender and can't really feel it when certain parts of my butt is being touched like it's got numb tender parts mainly in the middle.
September 27, 2017
The middle of my butt is very tender. Can't stand any pressure at all there. The bottom though sensitive and still sore I can tolerate some pressure pretty good.
