30 Year old woman from Canada. Spent a lot of time researching surgeons and their practices. Was looking for good pricing with good qualifications. Dr. Mel Ortega had good recommendations and qualifications when searched for. He has competitive pricing. Traveled from Canada to Miami for a breast augmentation. Prior to going to Miami I sent over pictures for an online consult. They responded with the price. Communication between myself and his office was poor, as it was hard to get a hold of his assistant. Emails were not consistently returned. Poor clarification of the final cost.

They sent over a requisition for blood work and after it was done the results were sent back to them.
I put a deposit down $500. Rest of the money due before surgery.
Both parties knew I might need a Benelli lift in addition to the breast augmentation. But was never made clear from the doctor if it was absolutely necessary. When I arrived there I was told I needed it done and I had no choice. Pressured me- Was either no surgery or surgery via the nipple with a lift and an extra $800 ca. We had to end up calling our family for more money as we weren't even prepared that I needed that Procedure. He does not do breast augmentation's through the armpit only through the nipple unless you're flat.
Had to wait a while before the surgery when I got there. Have to sign like a million papers. Urine testing done for pregnancy. Physical consult done. They don't have bra Sizer's really to try on- didn't even offer me to try anything on. I asked for one and they scrambled and found a bra for me to put some silicone implants in - only one size available. So couldn't get a real picture of what I might look like. I told him I wanted more cc than the silicone implants I tried on. He actually told me I have yam shaped boobs (tubular). Not something you want to hear.
Got my IV put in when I laid on the surgery table. Anesthesiologist was nice enough but did not keep me pain-free. Woke up in severe pain was put back to sleep for a while and then woke up again in severe pain and was given oral Percocet. I have an allergy to morphine so I'm guessing they couldn't give me that and that was all they had on hand? I have never woken up from any other surgery in pain!
Wheelchair escort to the car and my husband took me to the hotel. Thank God I had my own Ativan because I took some and went to sleep after sobbing all the way in the car from so much pain.
Postop visit the next day. Luckily I felt fine because of the Percocet. I was able to go shopping without any pain. That was the last time I've seen or talked to them. Enjoyed the rest of my days in Miami and went home.
My scars were around the nipples they healed poorly- new spots kept opening around the nipples and oozing white discharge after the Steri-Strips came off on their own. Expressed the discharge and applied Polysporin and they all eventually went away. I also put on the silicone cream to the nipple incisions. Used arnica cream to the breast tissue for decreased pain not on the open areas/scars. Kept the area clean and dry. I am a nurse so I know how to keep dressings and surgical sites clean.
Wore sports bras after The initial surgical bra/strap. Nipple scars eventually went thick and More so in some spots more than others. For the first while I had no nipple sensation on the left side. Now I can feel it but it's more irritation than anything.
I went from a B cup to a DDD cup. 650 and 680 cc saline. Like the size a lot. Feel a whole lot better about myself image now.
