I traveled almost 8 hours to Miami for bbl and lipo with Dr. Mel. I did my research and narrowed my choice to Spectrum. My surgery was schedule at 6am and everyone was late. I stood outside in the cold waiting for someone to let me in. I called the office and my coordinator (Vivian) several times no answer. I was pissed, and I thought I got ripped off. Eventually, I saw a lady thru the window, and I had to bang on the window several times for her to let me in. She seemed confused and she spoke very little English. I had to go to my car and get my paperwork and show it to her and explain over and over that I was getting bbl and lipo. She finally led me to a room and gave me a robe to change and told me to sit in a chair that had dirty linen. I had to tell her to change the linen. At this point I was feeling very irritated and wanted to just cancel my surgery and get my money back. She would not give me a refund….Other staff members started coming in and I met a black girl and the guy doing anesthia. Talking to them made me feel more at ease and the girl explained that Dr. Mel was running late and he will be there shortly. I met Dr. Mel, he answered all my questions and made me feel more comfortable with the surgery. I was disappointed after the surgery, I didn’t get the results that I wanted and whenever I tried to contact my coordinator (Vivian), she wouldn’t return my calls. I was quoted $1500 for a revision and I originally paid $5600. I’m very highly disappointed and swindled :/

Welll she has a point. If u are going to give a well accounted review of your experience and why u are complaining then be thorough and give blow by blow accounts if the events and then conclude with the pics that shows why u are complaining... I thought it interesting when I saw the heading “botched “ that suggests disfigurement and so forth. I wouldn’t go that far . She just looks as though she wasn’t even in surgery but botched is a tad extreme...lol lol lol

Did you lose weight? Because doctors don't recommend losing weight after a butt lift because it tends to also shrink .... You should have gone into a diet a Maybe lose some pounds then consider bbl

We need to see before pics! Your wish pic is just that, a wish. He can only enhance what u hv not create a new shape.

Here are some of my invoices, as you can see I DID get the surgery done and the amount I paid and NO foul play. At first, I thought I would just settle with my results, even though I was unhappy….. My right butt cheek is smaller than my left one and looks different in shape. It's embarrassing. My boyfriend even told me my butt was flat and he doesn't know I had the surgery done. I didn't get my 3 lymp massages nor did he lipo all the areas listed and paid for on my receipt.

Yes that paper is what she sends you via email after you've paid your "deposit." In her case I believe it was $600.

Second that. Mines is hand written. She lipoed her arms too which would increase her cost. My quote for bbl last year with spectrum was 5,000. He just went down recently. All so confusing...

Yes that's the paper the coordinator sends via email you after you've made the "deposit." In her case it was $600. That's not the paperwork my friend received after her surgery and she just went in December . And her paperwork shows that it was fully paid off. Yours just shows you've paid your deposit. Did they give you the other paperwork Hun? I don't know what the problem is but I pray everything will work out for you.

I'm not discrediting her story but it's odd my paperwork was not written in pen when I paid my deposit everything was done online and my receipt was emailed to me however her paperwork isn't even filled out all the way very unprofessional for a business especially a Dr's office there's no signature or date showing consent that she agreed to pay

Liz is my coordinator I'm not sure how many he has when I went to my consult last Monday she was the only one I seen not in scrubs and she handled my paperwork and was told I'll be working with her if I need anything

Yes Karla is another name I have seen in other reviews done by his patients I jus read one that mentioned they had her as I coordinator I have went back to the reviews and started from the lowest review but unlike the other reviews they have pics this review Doesn't

His place is very busy. When I was there by 8am waiting room was packed. I probably saw at least 25 staff working and everyone was very nice and helpful.

I would like to see before photos liposuction is not meant to make a person skinny it's for body contouring! If your bmi is over 30 then results would be minimal for one procedure would probably take several. It would be helpful if you could post a before pic. I understand your dissatisfaction but to post such a bad review you should definatly give as many details as possible and photos a lot of us are planning to use Dr. Ortega and this review as you can imagine is upsetting. I truly feel for your unhappiness and wish you the best hopefully you can fix it & be happy

Ugh, I am so sorry that you not only are not happy with the results of your expensive, painful and time consuming surgery, but also how people on RealSelf are so RUDE!
