6 month update

Breast are healed though I am still afraid to do upper body exercises at the gym. I go to my 6 month appt this week (6/19/2017)

My butt has changed a bit for the better ofcourse. It's smooth and no longer wearing my garments. I started working out 8 weeks after surgery and have been doing it 4 times a week. Still watching my diet with a cheat day here and there every week. I've come along way from week one.
I still don't regret surgery just wished I had done it sooner.

I've always wanted a breast lift but was told by plastic surgeons years ago that I should wait till I am done having children.

My children are now older and I am not having anymore. So I figured this would be the perfect time for me to get surgery done. I did my research on Dr.Miami for quite some time.
I visited his office in 2015 (before his prices increased) and I had a great experience from day 1. I was able to pick a surgery date in 2016 but I opted for a date when I could take a full 3 weeks off work which was December. I secured my date with a $1,000 deposit.

During my wait for surgery I made sure to read and prepare. I did gain some weight in order to have enough fat for the procedure only because when I visited him I had lost weight and had minimal fat (in my opinion).

Dealing with the office was no problem. I mainly dealt with Monica Ortega. She always answered my emails or my phone calls promptly. I am sure she is swamped daily with both but she does responds :-)

Let's move forward. I got my medical clearance and my mammogram done and results were sent to Dr. Miami. At my my pre-op appt I was given instructions and prescriptions for my meds. I filled those and with my insurance they ran about $50 bucks.

Now the day before surgery you have specific instructions that you must follow. They also call you the day before in order to give you the time that you must report to the office for surgery. I reported in at 7:30am and surgery was at 9am I believe (there's paperwork you must fill out and they have to prep you)
The morning of surgery I wore a button up shirt and a long loose slip on skirt. I was given this tip by someone who had just gone for surgery two days prior to me. The reason for this was because of the drains. You will have a drain at the crack of your butt and one in your lower abdomen close to your pelvic area.

I will stress this part right here because I didn't take it serious. PLEASE STAY AT A Recovery house or hire a nurse. It was needed and should be mandatory. No way my family would have been able to know what to do during the first few days following surgery. I had a nurse name Dani and I will tell you she was so attentive to me. She showed me and my family how to clean my drains. She stayed with me the whole weekend and woke me up when it was time for my meds. She walked me to the bathroom (with your head help up high). I don't know what I would have done without her.

Now let's discuss surgery, pain and medicine.

Day of surgery I was marked up by the doctor. I then was taken to the surgery room. I was introduced to Barry and he was the anesthesiologist. I don't recall much after the needle went in my arm. I woke up around 4:30pm and was taken home. The ride home was uncomfortable ofcourse and I was told that you should have some shades on and I did need them. Once I got home the nurse was there because she followed us home.
I was in pain and a bit disoriented. (FYI nurse was hired by me and she was referred by the office--best money spent)
The first evening was like a blurrrr. I recall the nurse giving me crackers, Gatorade and medicine. Because I had multiple procedures I was laying in bed on my boppy pillow with a bunch of pillows behind me. I had to name sure to take milk of magnesia because at some point I would be constipated after taking all those medications. On day 2 Dr sends out a nurse to give you a shower and remove dressings and/or change them. I had mine removed.

Everyday things get better. The first week I felt so uncomfortable because of the drains. Exactly one week after surgery once the drains came out I felt like a new person. I still needed help getting out of bed, rolling over, cooking, going down stairs and driving. I have never been so handicapped in my life. Everyday my body is changing for the better of course. Everyday things get better. Do not push yourself more than you have to. I rested a lot and made sure to eat foods low in sodium. You don't want to be bloated or retain more water than you have to. Recovery is no walk in the park and we all take pain differently. I will say I am glad I had the amount of time off that I because it allows me to recover at my own pace. I still feel some stiffness when I get out of bed or sit for too long but nothing unbearable. I am still siting on my boppy pillow when I drive and at home. I am sure the fat that was going to survive has survived. I dk I just feel more comfortable with it. If anyone has questions please ask. This is not a fake review but a realistic one with realistic expectations.

This was the best choice in my opinion. I wanted realistic results. I had great experience from beginning to end. Dr. Salzhauser has the best bedside manner and I not once felt uncomfortable. Internally I may have been scared but him and his staff eased any fears I had. I am so glad I went to him for my surgery. He delivered the best he could according to my body type and he made certain things clear from day 1. I have some cellulite and he can not get rid of it and I am totally okay with that. Overall he's changed my body and given me what I always wanted. I would do it all over again with him :-)
