I thought I was going to be scheduling my BBL with Dr. Stover, but her prices went up overnight. The price was supposed to be good until the end of the month of April (for surgeries scheduled thru the end of July) but I don't know what happened to that. I sent an email and got a call the next day which when to VM and by the time I called back they were already increased. I had a print-screen of the offer with the date and time on it but they refused to honor it. I was devastated but after talking with the staff about my situation, they convinced me to go with Dr. Valls who could offer me the previous discounted price. I was concerned because of his RealSelf ratings, but they sent me photos of his work
One of the photos they sent me was on Dr. Stovers page as her patient, so I asked about it and after putting me on hold, said there was a mix up with the photo and it was Dr. Valls' work. I asked for a little time to watched a couple of his YouTube videos and a video of a recent patient of his, after that I decided I would try him. They scheduled me right way, so I was very excited, especially since I have been looking and waiting on the perfect time to have the procedure for nearly two years!
I scheduled my surgery on the 10th of May because I couldn't fly out on their earliest available date of the 9th due to a prior engagement, which I explained to them. So I paid my deposit and said I would follow up with questions. They said no problem. This normally attentive representative who had been calling twice a day and sending email, was now non-responsive and I felt like I made the wrong decision. Just that quick.
I was getting discouraged because there was only 2 and 1/2 weeks to prepare and I was not hearing back from the staff as quickly as I needed to. I also needed to schedule a recovery house! I called several that were recommended on Real Self. One was completed booked, one didn't answer, one number didn't work (I found out later they had been raided and shut down) and when I reached Curvy Angels, I was lucky that there was an opening that just cancelled! (They are booked thru August). I was able to plan a stay for 7 days. Since this was locked it I decided to book my flight.
As of Friday, I had booked my flights, paid for my surgery deposit and my recovery stay deposit, and Dr. Valls staff had me fill out a questionnaire and said I needed to come in the day before surgrey to get a pre-op appointment and that I needed to bring results of blood work done within past 30 days. What?! I have a week until surgery and now you tell me about a pre-op the day before! I'd already said I couldn't be there on the 9th and now they have my money, so my faith in this whole system is thin. After a day of calling non-stop, they finally agree to move my date back a day. Now my pre-op is on the 10th and my surgery is on the 11th. Whew!
I wanted to get a head start on my blood work, but was told that they cant give me the details of my blood work until I have filled out all the pre-operative paperwork, which of course has disclaimers about payments. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY. I was traveling and wouldn't have internet access for hours, so now I have another delay due to miscommunication. After traveling all day I now have to go online at midnight to fill it out the questionnaire and there are 2 waiting. I fill out one and the other one wont open. I notify them so they can have my script ready for Saturday morning and I can get things moving. Saturday no script, Monday no script, I contact them and they said they never received my paperwork. I have a screenshot of it being done. Doesn't matter, they ask me to fill it out again, this time in an email and when I go back to the portal to do screenshots of each page, it is down. Ughhh. So I do the paperwork all over again.
OK. So what else can happen? Well I get a call and they tell me that since I had previously been on hormone therapy from a hysterectomy that I need a statement from my doctor saying I haven't taken the medication within the last 30 days or I have to push the surgery back. All my planning and staying up until 4 am and getting 2-3 hours of sleep for the past week has just gone to waste!!! Why? My doctor is not available until after the date of my schedule BBL surgery.
Right now I am waiting to see what can be done. To change my tickets is $200, to change the recovery stay is going to be a nightmare because there are no openings and any of the other places. If I cancel the surgery, I will lose a minimum of $400 of my deposit and there is no other time this year I can have this done due to further travel and regular scheduled obligations. I will have wasted nearly 2500 upfront and not even had anything done. I cried.
I am praying for a miracle because I had to work hard to get the money and to set things into place in a very minimal amount of time, and now everything is falling apart.

It got worse
My EKG came up "abnormal". (Which is my normal) I have a left deviation which affects 10% of population without it being if concern. So they asked for a clearance. No problem. I had a urgent care doctor review the new EKG and my historical ones (I'm a pilot) and he gave me clearance since the cardiologist notes on the previous ones (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) show that there was no concern. Well guess what? They won't accept it because he's not a cardiologist. Wow. I dont usually complain but I am more and more each day. I've got two days to get these people to accept my clearance. Can I get a cardiologist to the rescue?!

Took mine yesterday just cuz I've had an abnormal one last year, a septal infarct. Which my PCP and the ppl at the heart cry said I was fine. I sure hope I don't have to go thru that but glad I know to have a cardiologist to give me a clearance. Did they say anything to you about a cell saver? (Sorry if you've already answered this)

I didn't have to have the cell saver but I ended up getting it. BEST DECISION EVER

I was up and walking with no pain after my surgery. Everyone else looked tired and was moaning and groaning, walking slow, and crying in some cases.

Wow so sorry your going through this, since ur previous EKG showed the same thing, maybe u can go to your primary physician that can suggest a cardiologist. That way they may see you sooner. My primary DR couldn't clear me (b/c of there office being closed for 2 weeks) but did refer me to another DR, she put in an emergency consult I was able to be seen in 2 days. Maybe your primary physician can do the same??? Good luck, don't give up ur almost there...
