So I'm going to try to share my experience and pictures with you all along this journey because I have found this site to be so helpful in making my decision on my doctor, what to expect, etc.
I had my consultation with Dr Mendieta ($100 which is included in the final price) in January and now I am scheduled to have my surgery May 11th!!! Dr mendieta is great, so sweet and very acknowledgable as I assumed he would be. His staff is wonderful, Pinina is amazing answers ALL my questions and I have literally called the office a million times, she's very honest and upfront, but also makes me feel so confident in Dr Mendieta and that my well being is under the best care. I have just been transfered to Andrea the surgical coordinator, and she is wonderful too. I haven't spoke with her as much yet but she has sent me any paperwork or information I asked for. Besides that I am extremely nervous because my date is coming up so fast!!! I'm so excited as well :)
I will update soon and some pre op pictures

10,000?

why is MX so much cheaper?

Dr Mendieta is very expensive, but I did extensive research and I am happiest with his results from lipo and fat transfer. I guess you get what you pay for kind of deal.

I'm flying down from Atl to a have a consult on Thursday. I hate that he's so expensive but 3 years ago I had an atl dr do a bbl for half the price and basically she disfigured me so he will have to correct some of her work I'm guessing with one of his techniques like the Miami Thong or the "C" I'd love to share experiences with you since we are using the same dr

Yes definitely! I hate to hear about your first experience, that is terrible and so unfortunate. I believe Dr Mendieta is the best doctor although he is expensive, its worth it! When is your survey?

Never mind I reread your post and your consult is Thursday! Thats exciting :)

The consult is this Thursday so I will see what he has available...the sooner the better maybe hoping he's even had some cancellations next week. How was the consult? I was told they take pics and can change them with photoshop to show what he can do and how the result will look? I'm a flight attendant so I can use benefits and fly down for the day. Was going to drive around the area and try to find a clean but reasonable place to stay. So you mind if I ask where you're staying? And what supplies you've had to get? May 11th will be here soon! So exciting!

Yes at the consult he took pics of me and was able to show me a general idea of how my results would look after, he was very busy but answered all my questions, plus I got to spend lots of time with Pinina (lead surgical coordinator) who answered every question under sun I had. Personally I love Pinina and she is so honest and real about everything. I am staying at the Hampton Inn (which is about $120 a night with Dr discount) but I have heard it is a nice one and it's the closest to Dr Mendieta's Office, apparently walking distance. They offered a few other hotels, but they were in the $300-400 a night range which is just too much for me when I won't even be enjoying my stay. I haven't bought much supplies yet, I did purchase the Buckwheat Hull Neck Pillow Cylinder by Sachi Organics, they recommended me to sit on after surgery. I have also bought some of the vitamins and iron I am starting on a month prior. I am just getting very anxious and nervous. I have read too many posts on this site about the horrific pain and how bad people feel, so it's literally making me go crazy! I just keep thinking it will have to be bearable and worth it in the end. So you are trying to have the surgery ASAP? Thats exciting!

Yes would love to get it over lol! Yes my first was awful and I said I'd never do it again! But 3 years I guess erases the memory and I have some ideas to make sitting and laying in bed easier I'll post pics soon of something I'm making with three rolls of Foam purchased at Walmart with a glue gun and electric knife:)) it's was the laying on my stomach and side that was so hard did a real number on my neck and shoulders and then sometimes you just think forget it and sit and lay on your butt for awhile..the boppy idea didnt really work For me Ijust bought a small foam role at an upholstery/fabric store for $6 that I think will work well for going out and sitting in public. I was thinking about staying at that Hampton inn too not that I can afford the ritz they recommend but thought even if I could why would you when you're in pain and doped up on meds and can't even enjoy it...I do want to go by the shamrock they recommend bc I like the idea of separate tv area kitchen and washer dryer in room and it's about the same price and looks nice in photos. I'm sure it's wishful thinking for a early date just lots going on this summer with my kids so I'd like to be on the mend by then wanted to take my son to Disney world for his bday end of May etc Hope you don't mind the questions:) what did they say about lab work and is the garment they want you to buy really over $200? the one I got for first bbl was included in price

Oh one last question how many days did you book room for? I know they say 7-10 days that so long...was think once I knew I was in safe zone coming home after 4-5 days and getting a doc at home to take out stitches and going back if needed if some complications just a long time to pay for hotel and be away from family
March 27, 2015
No I don't mind the questions at all. I just hate to hear how awful your first experience was, it scares me in fact. I do want to see your invention/idea and I could use some extra pointers from someone who has already been through the process. I'm surprised you were able to go in public and sit?? About the hotels, I actually did not even look into the Shamrock I guess because I had never heard of that one, but it may be a good idea, sounds like a nice setup especially for this procedure. I wanted to get the procedure done as early as possible too, so I could do a few fun things over the summer months. I'm just not sure how long till I will be able to go in public, I literally have no idea what to expect lol. So they sent me the lab orders and I am having my blood work done at Quest Diagnostics in Orlando (where I live currently) and the other 2 EKG and chest X-ray done in Miami the day of my pre-op appointment at a place Dr. M office recommends. I'm not sure how much the garment is exactly, I just know they are sizing me for it at my pre-op appointment. I booked my room for 6 days and they said I could add more days if I needed too. I have't paid or anything…the hampton inn said I could add or take away as many days as I wanted which is so helpful! So you will be flighting home? I have read about women flighting, but I just can't imagine. Hope all that answered your question, sorry :)

By the way how was your consultation?

It went well! I have to say I really liked him. I had to wait in the room where they do your consult and take pics for half an hour and like I thought he will have to do the C cut to correct previous sx so I prob do need to stay with him since most docs don't advertise their expertise at this like he does...waited in another room for Marisol and I was worried about missing my flight so I'm waiting to talk to her to hear cost and schedule a date...if it's mid summer that's ok judging by how busy office was I'm guessing it will be 2-3 months...thanks for all the info... Keep me posted:)

That's great to hear! I will keep you posted and let me know if you schedule your surgery :)

Questions and concerns for ladies who have already had the BBL

CCGirlie
So recently I have been concerned about the areas I am having lipo done too. Currently my quote is strictly the abdomen, flanks, and back with fat transfer to my butt. The limit of fat allowed to be taken in Florida is 4 liters apparently. I have always had a pudgy stomach and some fat on my backside, but have also always had thin legs. So I have been concerned that my arms are too fatty and will look huge and fat compared to the rest of my body after my lipo/BBL. Can anyone tell me if they were concerned about this as well or if anyone has had arm lipo added to their BBL procedure? My doctor is Dr Mendieta. I have thought maybe I will just come back for a second time to get lipo of my arms, but I would rather not and get everything done in one swoop. I just think maybe Dr Mendieta believes he will take all 4 liters from by mid section.

Lastly can anyone give me a review on the Cane Chair that I have been reading about in reviews…is it worth it? Comfortable?
Thanks ladies!
