Hello everyone,
I apologize ahead of time for the novel. I had my BBL done on 10/03/17 with Dr. Hasan at Jolie Plastic Surgery. I can honestly say I am very happy with my results. The day before your surgery you will be fitted for your garment. If your garment was not included in your quote, I would purchase it from Amazon. Jolie will charge you $120 for the garment, when you can get the same exact garment on AmazonMy day started at 7:30 a.m. You will have a lot of paperwork to sign/fill out. They will take your blood pressure. My blood pressure was high (gee I wonder why), and they told me Dr. Hasan would cancel my surgery if we could not get it down. They took my blood pressure two more times and it was still high. So I laid on the examination table and put my ear phones in and listened to some rain sounds. My blood pressure came down dramatically and I was finally cleared for surgery.Upon entering the operating room, Dr. Hasan was connecting his bluetooth speaker to his phone and started playing some 90's music. I did think it was odd, as I felt like it was a party or something, however, it was also comforting at the same time. It showed me he was confident in what he was doing. IV was put in and the next thing I remember is hearing, "You've been Hasanified! Time to wake up. You're going to have to go buy a whole new wardrobe!" lol. You will wake up on your stomach. They had warned me that the IV fluid would make me cold. I was shivering literally uncontrollably; freezing. I had to be wheeled out to the car, where I had to climb in the back so I could lay on my stomach. The way I would describe the pain was honestly, not that bad. I felt like I had really severe period cramps in my front and like I did 1000 squats for my butt. Dr. Hasan prescribed me Percocet, which helped immensely, but you will only be prescribed 5 days worth. No refill requests will be honored. So stock up on Tylenol, because you won't be able to take ibuprofen either.Dr. Hasan does not use drains (well he didn't on me at least), so I bled all over my garment. All over the bed sheets at the hotel, all the way through to the mattress protector. I ended up throwing away 2 garbage bags full of completely soiled hotel towels and sheets. The next day I had to go in for my follow up. Since I was completely soaked in blood, I needed a new garment. So I had to dish out the $120. I live in Orlando, so immediately following my follow up appointment, we headed back. I had to rent a SUV so I could lay on my stomach. The first couple of days were honestly better than I expected. I'm sure the Percocet had a lot to do with that. I had to sleep on my couch, as I couldn't climb up into my bed. I was trying to walk around as much as possible (which is recommended to avoid blood clots). When I no longer had the Percocet, that's when I started experiencing the discomfort. No matter what I did, I just couldn't get comfortable. The pain really wasn't that bad.I got my first massage 3 days post op. This was by far the absolute worst part of my BBL. The pain was excruciating; I was bawling my eyes out and literally punching the wall because it hurt so bad. Come to find out, after 3 massages, the girl was not doing lymphatic drainage massage. I believe she was probably doing deep tissue massage, which is why the pain was unbearable. Lymphatic drainage massage should not hurt, so ladies keep that in mind. After that, I swore off the massages. I would have rather died than gone through that again. A friend of mine who is a nurse kept telling me that she couldn't have been doing lymphatic drainage massage if it was hurting that bad. I decided to try a Medispa near my home. The masseuse was able to do some lymphatic drainage massage on my back, but my abdomen was still too sensitive. It was likely the first masseuse caused more damage, so we have to leave it alone for the time being. I also found out that this large "water bed" on my abdomen was a seroma. I was immediately transferred to a doctor as my seroma had become severe. It needed to be drained, as I was at risk for developing an infection. The doctor removed 240 cc's of fluid from my left abdomen, and I ended up passing out, lol. He removed another 40 cc's of fluid from my right abdomen. I had to go back 4 days later and they took out another 60 cc's of fluid out of my left abdomen, and another 17 cc's of fluid out of my right abdomen. I didn't pass out this time. But close to it, lol.I am now 25 days out. I'm sure I will have to have my seroma drained at least one more time, as the fluid is starting to accumulate again. The pain is rather non-existent; I'm just stiff. My butt and abdomen are really tight, which is to be expected. You must maintain a low sodium diet to prevent additional swelling. When I had my BBL done, I was (am) 5'8", 190 lbs. I gained 5 lbs right after the surgery from swelling, but I have since lost that plus an additional 11 lbs. (I need to lose about 20 more lbs.)I'm tired of typing, so I will end it there for the time being. If anyone has any questions, I am more than happy to share my experience/photos with you. Please just reach out. I will post photos here shortly.

Did your insurance cover your Seroma drains

October 29, 2017
Hi there. The place I went to, Advanced Aesthetics, doesn't accept insurance. Of course I found that out after my seroma was drained. So it cost me $250. When I went back 4 days later, I asked them if they were going to charge me another $250 (because if so, I was not paying that). They agreed to only charge me $100. Generally, your plastic surgeon who did your surgery should be performing the drainage (which should be included in your cost), but I was not driving 4 hours for that (Orlando to Miami).

Hasan did an amazing job ... I can't wait for my turn

1. Was the compression garment hard to use the restroom in? No. The garment has an opening that allows you easy access to urinate. I did, however, get pee on my garment numerous times. So I started sitting the reverse way on the toilet and used a funnel. Sounds crazy, but you get tired of having a soggy garment real quick. Now to #2, you do have to actually pull the garment off, which sucks at first, but you get used to it.
Do you think the seroma occurred since the dr didn't use drains? From what I've read, that may have had something to do with it. So, the way the anatomy works is you have your skin, then underneath that is fat, and then underneath that is muscle. The obvious point of liposuction is to remove the fat. In doing so, the skin then needs to reattach itself to the muscle. Sometimes that doesn't happen as quickly as it needs to, and the pocket then fills with fluid, thus creating a seroma.
How many inches were your waist/hips before surgery & after? I honestly don't know. :( I didn't bother to measure myself, probably because I just wanted to get it over with and had gained so much weight I didn't even want to know.
After surgery can you not sit at all or climb stairs? The rule of thumb for Dr. Hasan is you are not to sit on your butt for 3 weeks. I do however have the Dr. Miami Booty Buddy pillow (with the back pillow) and will occasionally use that in a chair, and I use it in my car when I drive. I place one of those neck pillows under the butt pillow for additional support. It isn't comfortable for very long, but it will at least give you a few minutes of relief. I was able to climb my stairs, but it was one step at a time. You just need to take your time with it, but it is achievable.
Also as you lose weight does your butt stay the same or does it reduce? The size of your butt will reduce as you lose weight, but the size of your body will reduce as a whole. Your butt will remain proportionate to your body. I honestly feel like my butt is too big right now, so I welcome it, lol.
