BBL, Bad Results After Liposuction from Donor Site - Miami, FL

ORIGINAL POST

I don't know what took me so long to write this...

I don't know what took me so long to write this review. Honestly, i just thought that i was that certain percentage that had less than satisfying results after plastic surgery. After years of insecurity and not being able to wear a bikini or anything showing my midriff i decided to see if i could have this corrected. After several consultations from plastic surgeons in Maryland (that is where i live, traveled to Miami for procedure) i realized Dr. Mendieta was too aggressive with my liposuction. I will admit that the doctors also said that some of it is loose skin, which is no ones fault...
My experience before the procedure was okay. I met with Dr. Mendieta and it was okay. He is a very nice guy, very charismatic. The staff was okay, as well. I've had better customer service but they were nice enough. Granted, it maybe new staff now seeing as how this was in 2009. Anyway, Post surgery was horrible. After the procedure the pain was unbearable. I do remember the nurse getting upset with me after waking up from the anesthesia. Very rude and curt. So besides that i remember the Doctor or nurse placing foam like stripes down each side of my abdomen (vertical). That was a horrible ordeal because i had some type of allergic reaction to the adhesive and it literally made me feel like my skin was on fire!!!! With the removal of the tape my skin was removed as well... I know, it was as horrible as it sounds!
I will say that my butt is fantastic! Even after 5 years my butt is really holding up and everyone loves it! I just feel like it was at the expense of my abdomen, which really sucks. I've contacted Dr. Mendieta and he wanted to do more lipo to correct the issue but he didnt really convince me that the problem could be fixed and there was other factors such as me being in the military and not being able to travel back to Miami because of my duty assignment.
The only other issue i have is that Dr Mendieta did not go up far enough with the areas that was liposuction-ed causing my upper body (dorsal roll) to be in proportion in relation to my "flat" stomach. My issue is he didn't even suggest that area should be liposuctioned, money wasn't an issue so i don't understand why that wasn't suggested. It's sad because the rest of the contouring was nice but all the surgeons that I've seen said he should have lipo'd that area.
So as of right now i have 3 different surgeons telling me 3 different procedures to fix this problem. 1st doctor is telling me i need a reverse tummy tuck. 2nd doctor is telling me i need regular lipo and the 3rd doctor says i need a fat transfer and maybe slight lipo. I dont know which procedure i should choose.

Hey Hun. I have a similar prob with my abs after lipo. I have done some research and have heard ps that specialize in lipo revision say they do fat transfer and additional lipo to fix the problem. I would suggest finding a lipo revision specialist. Good luck.
Thanks! Have you only researched? Did you get the surgery done?
Also, in ur pictures, are the dorsal rolls the fat that he left in the abdomen area? I'm not to familiar with dorsal rolls. Is that scar tissue or fat that he failed to remove?
The dorsal roll is the "bra fat" area.
hi. thanks for your review. i suggest posing this question with some pics to the ask doctor section on RS.
It is already posted in the "ask a doctor" section. Thanks.
Are you moving forward with a revision from another doc or chatting with Dr. M? Interested in what he said. Seem a lot of girls have similar complaints. I have a review where I tell my experience when researching bbl for first time with him. Love to hear your progress.
no. I'm going for a rd 2 bbl so the ps will have lipo my ab area again being that I gained so much in preparation for this sx. I have what I believe may be residual fat left from my first lipo. there is an area of my abs over my belly button that looks very similar ur ab pic. I thought it was scar tissue but I got an opinion from a doc who said it's not scar tissue. that's why I asked the question because I was curious to know what the docs told u. I haven't had any sx yet, but I have researched alot about lipo revision. I have seen alot of docs who hold themselves out to be lipo revision specialist who have said additional lipo and fat transfer to the affected area would fix it. @sexintel is right, there are alot of docs on this site who have answered similar lipo questions and may answer ur specific question if you ask.
Yeah, i submitted the ask a doc question when i posted this review.
