Smoking before surgery
Hey everyone, a lot of you have asked me about smoking prior to surgery and I have not responded because I'm never really on here any more... At the time of my surgery I smoked cigarettes and weed occasionally. About 3 months before I started smoking about 1/2 pack a week. But, I only smoked weed on some/most weekends, socially. I would say this wasn't terrible compared to many smokers but nonetheless, I was a smoker.
As I mentioned in my initial review, I decided to get surgery pretty last minute and was under the needle less than a month after making up my mind and paying for surgery. Doctor's generally recommend you stop smoking at least 1-2 months before surgery, or more depending on how much and how long you've smoked. With that said, I stopped smoking at all about 14-19 days before my surgery date, BUT I slipped up and smoked both weed and cigarettes with my friends on one occasion about 10 days before my surgery.
This was the only time, and I freaked out after doing so. So I did some research and made sure to drink lots of water, avoid sodas and unhealthy foods, and eat veggies and fruits that had vitamins to keep me healthy(er) just before my surgery... While I didn't have any complications during or after my surgery, I wouldn't recommend anyone to do what I did. Even if it is only weed and not cigarettes, any smoking affects your lungs health so it's best to just stop smoking at all at least a month before and avoid taking the risk!
I did continue to smoke about a month and half after surgery and I don't know if it was the smoking before or the smoking after, but my results have diminished over time. The fat cells did not survive. This is also because i've lost a lot of weight. But I'm sure smoking has played a role in it.
Bottom line ladies, don't smoke! You'll just be better off.

Hey everyone. I have been checking in on this site...
Hey everyone. I have been checking in on this site and reading all of your reviews and journey since August (2015). Never posted before but felt like it today. I finally decided to get my BBL in November and had surgery about two weeks later. Luckily having been medically cleared and getting the money together just in time. The entire process came and went in the blink of an eye and was overall to book, pay for, & have my surgery... I'd like to say that thankfully I got a good coordinator at Vanity (Regla) who was very helpful. Initially I felt she was just trying to get my money but after having my mom call and speak to her she was much more attentive to my needs... Dr. Fisher is fantastic in every aspect EXCEPT i'm not happy that I was only able to meet/talk to him personally minutes before surgery because everytime I came pre-op they told me he was either busy or out. Thankfully everything turned out okay. The first day post was by far the worst. Days 2 and 3 were bad, but not as bad as day one. The rest of week one was quick progress with discomfort and pain here and there. I am now 2 weeks post op and healing very well. Almost all my bruising is gone. I just have some swelling and stiffness on my sides and parts of my back. Almost no pain at all. My butt is starting to soften up too! Overall, I am very happy with results and I am so glad this website exists because many of you have indirectly answered so many my questions and have unknowingly been my support system (besides my family) through out this entire process. If anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to answer them!
