28y/o Getting a Mommy Makeover

so my surgeon in miami, dr llorente from new life cosmetics is denying my refund, which i was told i would be able to get if i wanted to cancel. before i made my final payment, my surgical coordinator Tania specifically told me if i wanted to cancel i would get a refund minus the non refundable $500. now that im wanting to cancel they are denying my refund! stating " i need a medical reason to cancel my surgery" i'm in the process of getting my lawyer to handle this because it isn't right to keep almost $9000 of my hard earned money for a surgery i no longer want! i don't understand the reasoning for that. Can any doctors explain this or give me advice as to how to handle this? thanks.

my surgery was scheduled for 12/5. i took 3 weeks off from work, booked flights for myself from California, one for my mom from Pennsylvania to look after me, a hotel, plus a rental care. they're telling me to reschedule for 12/19 and hope my hemoglobin is at a 12 by then. it is currently at a 10. i do not want to go through the hassle and loss of money by re-booking flights for myself and my mom, requesting additional time off from work, changing hotel and rental car reservations.

what if my hemoglobin is not increased by then, i have to go through that whole process all over again. it is completely unreasonable of them to expect me to keep rearranging my life for that. i would rather just cancel and wait until a better time in my life to do the surgery.

i have anemia, so my iron is always going to fluctuate or be low. My PCP stated it was at a level suitable for surgery but i understand it is the surgeons call. I also know it takes 90 days to make new blood, so i doubt my HgB levels will be increased at the time they wanted me to reschedule.

I'm just so frustrated that they think they have to right to keep my money for services i have not received.

im so excited! so my surgery date is 12/5! im flying to miami overnight 12/3. and go for my preop 12/4!! all my labs are back and normal! my surgery is completely paid for! i was going to stay at a recovery house for a week. but my mom and husband don't like the idea of me being in florida by myself, so i have agreed to fly my mom in and we're going to stay at a hotel for the week.

i have found a plastic surgeon to do my post op care with once i get back home! which i'm grateful for, since it was really hard finding a surgeon who didn't mind that i went to another surgeon for my surgery.

ill be posting pics once i get situated back home and feeling up to it! i'm so excited for the surgery, i know dr llorente is going to do an amazing job!!!

Does anyone know any plastic surgeon who are open to doing follow up care from another surgeon? I'm going out of state for my proctbut once I get home, how do I go about being seen every few months and getting my drains out??
