26 Years Old, Mother of 1, Tummy Tuck - Miami, FL

I just had my surgery done with Dr. Alvarez on the 11th of December. I was assigned a coordinator named Karla, who was every nice and patient with me (considering I had changed my surgery date so many times). She gave me all the information I needed, told me to send some front and side pictures and scheduled my surgery date. She also recommended the recovery house that I stayed at which I'll review in another post. At first when Karla told me that Dr. Alvarez was going to be my surgeon, I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't find any reviews about his work. I kept searching week after week hoping that someone will post something, but still nothing. He did call me and spoke with me about the procedure shortly after I booked. From that conversation, he seemed very nice and down to earth, he seemed confident and assured me that I would have great results. That gave me a boost of confidence but I was still a bit hesitant. Anyway I flew form Toronto to Miami on the 11th, and had my pre-op appointment with him a few hours later. I was very please with his aura, he was just as sweet, and down to earth as he sounded over the phone. I felt very comfortable with him; he's personable, professional, patient, humble and very confident. Most of my anxiety immediately went away upon meeting with him. He told me that I would have great results and insists that I will be fine and need not worry. I had my surgery the day after this, he came in and spoke with me before I was in the operating room. There is something quite different about this doctor that just makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. He didn't rush, he took his time with me and ensure that all me concerns and question were addressed and before he left, he asked me if there was anyone I would like him to call after the surgery to let them know how I was doing. I was surprised, because I've never heard of a surgeon doing this. All of that just made me trust him even more. Upon waking up from my surgery, I was expecting a lot more pain than I had, since most of the tummy tuck reviews that I read said the pain was pretty bad. Now I don't know if I just have a high tolerance for pain or if the surgery itself isn't very painful but more so uncomfortable because of the anesthesia wearing off and adjusting to accommodating the tummy tuck. The day after my surgery I had a post op appointment with Dr. Alvarez, I was very nervous to look at my incision or my stomach in general, so I told him that I did not want to see it. He was like "why not? it looks great and everything is healing up very nicely", he also said it look very flat, But I didn't expect to hear anything less even if it didn't look good. Lol. So I didn't look, I couldn't. It wasn't until, day 3 (yesterday) after another post-op that I actually took a look at it in the mirror before attempting to take my first real post-op shower. When I actually stood there, head on looking at my stomach, I couldn't believe want I was seeing. I love my new stomach!!!! I couldn't believe how well contoured and small my stomach looked, and at this point it is still pretty swollen. I can't help but imagine how much better it's going to get considering it already looks so great. I've seen tons of tummy tuck reviews with before and after photos and I'm not a huge fan of many of the works done on the belly buttons; so I was also very nervous about that, but after seeing it, I can honestly say that I love the way doctor Alvarez did mine!! It's the perfect size, I feel so sexy looking at myself in the mirror now! I hated my belly button before. I also had a hernia repair done a few years ago which was done very cheaply, he went ahead and redid that for me, which I'm so thankful for. God definitely blessed this doctor, he is an amazing person and he does amazing work. I remember Karla telling me that he is a perfectionist and I can honestly say that it reflects his his work. I wouldn't hesitate for a second, having other procedures with him, if I ever do decide to have anything else done. Also, he responded to all my emails within a timely manner. I thank God that things work out the way they did, so that I ended up with this surgeon. I couldn't be more happy. :D
