do not go as out of state patient

After 5 years of researching a BBL I finally decided to get it done in August 2018. I wanted to get it done asap and I found Dr Mendieta on Real Self. He had really good credentials & I thought it was a great fit. 4 Beauty (his company) contacted me and told me there was an opening in 4 weeks. I live in Boston but was able to coordinate everything and it worked great with my schedule. The first mistake I did was reserving my surgery date before talking to the doctor. He was to busy to give me a consultation and I only spot to him about 10 days before my surgery. 4 Beauty was very attentive in scheduling surgery and called for payment right away. I thought this was totally fine. I came in the day before surgery & talked to the doctor for 5 minutes which seemed very quick but I did not know what to expect. The following day I arrived very early and it went very fast and the next thing I knew I was waking up with a new booty. My recovery was very very easy. I was doing everything back to normal about my 3rd day. My pain subsided quickly and I didnt really experience swelling that was uncomfortable or painful. I did have a lot of bruising and a very dark mark on my leg. After my surgery I went in about 3 times in 10 days before they said I could return to Boston. I pointed out the dark mark on my leg and they said it was just bruising. After 2 weeks past my surgery I attempted to call them and get answers regarding this mark that would not go away. They brushed me off and didnt pay any attention. Getting in contact with anyone was horrible and no one cared. Their excuse was always they were busy with post op appointments even though I stressed I was post op as well I just could not go into the office and see him/a nurse. They did not bother or take any importance to my issue. My mark started to sink in and collapse. It seemed that there was an issue with the fat transferred. Finally they recommended I see a dermatologist which explained it was post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation however did say there was some problem under the skin as it was abnormally hard & collapsing. I went back to Dr. Mendieta to give them the follow up information. It took me about a week of calling everyday 5-10 times to finally reach someone. I was able to explain what happened to a nurse & she was going to get back to me. It has been about 2 months from my surgery and I am very upset with 4 Beauty and the way they take care of their out of state patients. I have turned to RealSelf to steer patients in the other direction if you do not live in Miami & cannot show up at the office if you have any issues. I was very happy with my size and shape the first couple of weeks but now I am almost back to the same size I use to be. The only difference is I got lipo, a dark mark, and a collapsed hip now.. And no doctor to help with the situation. Please be mindful of traveling for a surgery. No local doctors will see you as they do not want to be responsible for someone else's mistakes
