Yes, lots of crying and hiccups along the way but slowly it is all coming together. Hoping this IPL therapy helps out to reduce the redness/pigmentation in the scars

Photos:
Red scarring still 4.5 months post op. I have been wearing silicone strips almost exclusively since 2 months post op. Now that the opened area is fully closed I have started silicone therapy since last week. My skin was still very thin and sensitive so needed for it to heal well prior to starting. This ride is not for the weak. Lots of ups and downs. Think about all that can do wrong, I am glad I didnt develop any severe complications. If you have any questions please ask :)
I will be starting IPL therapy this week. I will update you all as I progress. Thank you all for your kind comments.

I read all of your posts and you really handled all that you went through so well. I don’t know you but I’m so inspired by you.. this is my concern when I get my stitches out 11 days they have been in.. May I ask how long your stitching was in for ?

Aw! That is so kind. Congratulations on your surgery. I had dissolvable sutures so mine were not removed.

So did this happen as a result of poor work on alvarez's part?

Hey! You know, I will never know. It is just strange how it happened only on one side. I think had I gotten wound care nurses involved much quicker it would have been less crazy. When i visited emerg I was not told about free wound care services in my city. So many great products that i was not introduced to until it was real far gone. I think it was just a complication of sutures / possibility of infection one one side leading to dehicense. I don’t think it was the surgeon. On the other hand I do know he uses surgical assistants to close up too so maybe it was suture closure issues that lead to poor integrity and my skin didnt hold well. I had all dissolvable sutures (common in plastic surgery vs other types)

Thank you girl!!! All is closed! Now stuck with scarring, I have been in touch my my PS he said give it 3 months until i reach the 6 month mark and we can revisit it and assess scaring for a possible revision if the scar therapy doesnt lighten up

I wonder why they told you to take off the compression bra so soon? I wore mine for a solid 2 weeks and he only recommended me 10 days. I’m not a doctor either but I assume keeping pressure off of new wounds that are moist as well is the best thing. Maybe after your next surgery for the scars, use Embrace Scar Therapy? I did and you can check out my scars for my lift with implants. Almost can’t tell.

Hey love! I’ve read your journey and may I say one congrats for taking a bit step for having the surgery and two yes, it’s been trying for you with the wounds and dehiscence but you have been so positive. It’ll still be a bit until complete final result is accomplished and I sending you nothing but positive vibes for everything to work out. I developed Capsular Contracture within 6 of my surgery. I had a few wound issues. nothing major, but you’ve handled it all great. Definitely stay update I would love to read more!!! Happy Healing!!!

In your case, this should have been a two stage procedure. More expensive, but in the end, a better result. First stage, just the lift! Then after completely healed, the implants. The result is far superior! Less stress when the skin is thinner. The breast accepts the implants far better and scarring is minimal. Just an opinion from what I saw in my fiancé with a great result.
