Hey ladies!
I should have started my journey a while ago but seeing how I have lots of time in bed recovering, lets start now. Lol.
I booked my procedure initially with Dr Krau at CG Cosmetics for Dec 1/17. Booked all my flights, hotels, paid for my companion, booked 2 weeks of work off etc in JULY all to get a call from my coordinator saying Dr Krau was unavailable now and I was going to be switched doctors. I said absolutley not. I did not want anyone but him at this point and asked for a refund of my $1000 deposit (which to date has yet to be refunded and it has been about 7 weeks since the cancellation of surgery) they are beasts to take your money but be prepared to get waiting for a refund. I don’t understand what is taking so long. Next step is credit card charge back. So unbelieveable. My full review will follow, stay tuned :)

Pre-Op!
I had my pre-op appointment scheduled on Nov 30 at 12pm. The girls at the front desk were sweet and prompt and all information was easily answered. They gave me about 50 sheets of paper to sign (consent, disclaimers, risks etc) and an ipad to update all my medical and contact information. This took 15 minutes. I was called upstairs and was brought into a room where someone took my weight, BP, temperature and some photos and gave me three prescription papers (zofran - for nausea, percocet - for pain and an oral antibiotic) the cost for these without insurance was $100 and I purchased these at Walgreens. The zofran was the most expensive but was so helpful as I was almost considering just not getting it to save $50 but i thought what the hell I’d rather not have it then have it esp throwing up with fresh incisions. Antibiotic was $4 and the percocet was $30. The lady also gave me a chlorhexadine scrub to wash myself with the morning of surgery to cleanse my skin.
After this, I waited about 45 minutes to pay the balance oweing. I paid my initial deposit 10% of the total cost of my procedure. $4700 I was quoted for lift and silicone gel augmentation. I was told saline would be $4200. I paid $470 on credit card and the rest $4230 cash for that deal.
My total time spent was approx 2 hours.
I did not see the doctor at all this day, nor have the option of trying on any implants. My case was a little different as I had lots of tissue, so being unsure of how much he was going to remove made it hard to imagine what to put in as I was not wanting to go very large. My body frame is on the larger side, I am 5’9 and 210lbs currently. My goal for the surgery was 199, but I have the worst will power! Dr. Alvarez has a BMI restriction of 34+.
My operation and follow up times were not given to me until 5:30pm that day and I was scheduled for 7:30am the next day and was told to stop eating or drinking at 8pm.
Overall a very easy and smooth transaction, I just wish that we had some dedicated time to try on implants etc especially after waiting 45 minutes for payment to happen if they had a room to see all sizes and feel around to get an idea. I was so shocked when I saw a 425cc silicone implant and it looked huge. Photos are very deceptive sometimes.

Booking with Mia Aesthetics
Mia Aesthetics does things in a very different way. They have dedicated staff for each step of the way. One girl does payment, one does lab filing, one does appointment booking, there are sales girls etc. I think I would prefer having one ‘coordinator’ who I could email for all my questions vs multiple. Each person was from a different email so some communication was hard to follow back on and all had different names (Mia Conceirge, Mia Sales, Mia Aesthetics) so I never really knew who to contact. They are still within their first year of business I believe so some room for improvement but it is not a huge concern.
Everytime I had a question it was answered within 12 hours. Everytime. Karla (sales) was great from the start. Super sweet and easy to get in contact with. This office is not pushy compared to others. All documentation was organized, emailed to me within minutes of payment, all layed out perfectly. All information of what to expect was emailed as PDFs and this definitely stood out as a huge plus. Very modern and up to speed.
I filled out my forms online, sent photos and was emailed a price within 24-48h. I sent payment via visa with Karla and was asked to bring the remainder in cash or money order to qualify for the cash price. I believe they charge 3% more if you choose credit card as payment and more if you use care credit etc.
30 days prior to surgery someone contacted me with all the labs I needed to go for as well as imformation I needed filled out from my doctor. I did not need an EKG or mammogram as I was under 40 years old. I had a bunch of bloodwork completed and my doctor needed to write a letter stating I was a low to no risk to have this surgery and general anaesthesia based on my previous medical history and her knowledge. This was done promptly and I submitted this to Mia within 1 week. My HGB was needed to be above 12.9 and I was 14.1 so I didnt need to add the cell saver ($500 extra). This is an option if your hemoglobin is low and you still want surgery. It autotransfuses your blood during surgey to prevent loss. Everything was confirmed ok and next thing to do was wait for some new perky boobs!
I am also addicted to watching snapchat, IG etc. If they are reading this I hope the expand their content and post more live surgeries. I messaged their social media team and asked to go live but it didnt happen, boo!

I agree they are just sales girls and I definitly don’t like Mia’s process. I would also prefer interating with only one “coordinator”. There’s a hiuge differnece in service when you’re dealing with an actual patient “coordinator” instead of sales girls who only care about IG.
