Why did I mention it to my dad and sister. All they tried to do is scare me and talk me out of it. LA LA LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I offered her to come with me and have hers done but she said no so ok. Don't be hating on me once its all done and I'm slim fine again. Then I'll have to tell you. ... . I told you to join me. God Oy r Father will protect me in Jesus name! Amen!

I'm 7 days post opt. I had my surgery done in Tijuana, and would do it all over again if I ever had to. The best experience of my life. I was in the Florence hospital in Tijuana. Very clean and great staff. Everyone spoke English so there was no language barrier. I would encourage everyone wanting it done to go to Tijuana Mexico. I'm 7 days post opt and have to date lost 21 pounds and I feel AMAZING.
What a Blessing! I can't wait till February 2015 to have my gastric sleeve surgery done in Tijuana Mexico. My family are trying to discourage me about going there but I told my family that (you can't go about life scared to travel, scared to fly and scared to do anything that is good for your health) I lost my mother to congestive heart failure on February -25-2014. She was fifty nine years old may she rest in peace. Before she passed she would always ask me why I don't take better care of myself like I used to and fix myself up and dress up and live. I never understood why she would say that Until a few days after she passed. I'm to young to give up on myself. I have to change for sake of my children and my poor mother who also battled with her weight almost all of her life. Who was also married to a very jealous husband up until she divorced him in the late 19 nineties. She seen me headed down the same path. How long did you stay on Mexico? How your follow up appointments going to work? I have been told once you have the surgery in Mexico. No doctor here in the US will see you regarding the weight loss surgery.
I told my primary care provider prior to surgery and my primary care provider said he would see me. I was in Mexico for 4 days total
Did you find someone yet? Also is it there they do the exams etc and do the surgery? Also @shellyrockwell - how have you managed after?

Do u hve insurance? I was jus asking because I started the steps to hve my insurance cover it & I can save that money to have lipo after I loose the weight.
I want to go in March my boyfriend he has been really supportive I only shared my decision with my sister and she thinks it's a great idea. I was thinking about going to DR. Alvarez in Mexico I heard great things about him. Let me know if you still need a surgery buddy i"ll go with you and i'll even go first if you want lol

Ok, I had a long discussion with my husband and now he finally gets where im coming from. After showing him many other people who went through the gastric sleeve surgery in Tijuana Mexico and how amazing they all look. He was well I guess so if you really want it I guess so sugar :) in his words.....A happy wife A happy life :) So True!

Hi I had mine done 3 months ago, in Mexico, my husband didn't agree at the beginning but I told him that my mind was made up, and that I was doing it, he understood that that was nothing he could say to make me change my mind, I needed it!! . I am down 38 lbs, I know is not much, others have lost more than me, but if is a little slower probably I will not have much loose skin. Good luck and keep me posted of your progress.

Hello everyone, my name is Patricia im married with two children. I'm 32 years old and 6ft 2inches tall. I currently weigh 270 pound's and want to go through gastric sleeve surgery in February 2015 but I don't want to go through it by myself. I was hoping to find another female looking to have it done as well. I am thinking of going through it in Tijuana Mexico through alighterme.com they are only charging $4,600 and gives a discount if two people go together and have the surgery done. Hopefully they will have a discount in February 2015. If not then I will be having it done in new Iberia Louisiana at Dr Thomas Borland for $9800.00. Either way it will get done. After we lose the weight we can plan to have the mommy make over surgery done. If you are someone you know wants to have gastric sleeve surgery and don't want to go at it along, please feel free to contact me so we can plan to go together. My hhusband is not supportive about it at all but he will get over it because this is my life and my body and I have to live with and in it everyday. I'm paying for it out of my pocket. I let myself go for too long because my husband was too worried about me trying to lose weight and look good for someone else. I used to be beautiful. Now I'm fat with rotten teeth and partial dentures in my mouth and he couldn't help me with any of it if he wanted to. It is time for me to put my foot down and get it done. I have alot of work to do but first thing first. ....gastric sleeve surgery. Then dental implant surgery to hold up my dentures permanently. Then a mommy make over surgery once all the weight is lost God spare.

I know your excited :) I'm doing mine in February 2015 because I am paying cash. I have the money now but Christmas is right around the corner and my two kids like big expensive ride on toys like 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and go carts. Not to forget PlayStation games and x box games. Thank god I stopped at two. Children are very expensive. I love my boys so I'll wait until February 2015 to get my gastric sleeve surgery done. Are you nervous about traveling? I'm nervous because I don't want to go at it alone.
I am getting sleeved in February also but my insurance is paying 100%. I have to wait 6 months and it's so hard to have to wait and dream about it!

I am going through the process....I'm on 3rd months of the 6 months supervised required weight loss management...I still have to get medical clearance and blood work done....after that I think my information will be ready to submit to BCBS around the last of January 2015.....I have my finger crossed that I will have my surgery in February....wishing you much success in your journey.....

Ok. It's a blessing to have Blue cross blue shield paying for the surgery. I tried to get Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana but they wanted me to pay $365.00 per month. After I figured it out and searched around, I found it would be cheaper for me to pay out of my pocket. Thank you for sharing your plans with me. I really appreciate you. Hi Daphney :) great! Let me know cause I really don't want to travel and go through the gastric sleeve surgery alone. Who are you thinking about going through? There are a few I am researching. I really like the weight loss agents. They everything there for you to know plus the stay time is 4 to 5 days and you can purchase airline tickets from there website. They also have a lay-a-way plan. Thats great!

I've decided to go through weight loss agents with Dr Almanza because he is very skilled and does alot of gastric sleeve surgeries.
