$3,000
Looking to have wls soon in Mexico. I've struggled with my weight for years. I did a good job maintaining it with the help of diet pills, but after having my daughter who is now almost 3 I've struggled with losing. I've gained a lot of extra weight. I'm looking to pay cash which is one of my reasons for considering Mexico. I was approved for financing her in Florida ( Lauderhill), but the monthly payments were pretty high. I'd rather pay cash if possible. I've read good things about LongTerm Vsg, but it's hard to tell which are genuine reviews by non paid people. The people at a Long Term Vsg seem really nice and knowlegable but hey that's their job. Feel free to offer suggestions.

Hi MIssz1995,

I hear you on all your concerns. I'm scheduled for 7/4 and still a bit nervous, plus I can't find any negative reviews on the doctor and while that's an amazing thing, it also raises some questions. I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you so I'll keep you updated :)

How did you get your $2999 price? I thought it went up to $3499? That's what I was quoted.

Helen
Really? I was going off of the special they have posted on their site. The reviews also all stated $2999, so I figured that was the going rate. I've also been considering A Slimmer Me. They quoted me for $2799, but I haven't been able to fine very many reviews on them either. Good or bad. But they're both out of the same surgical center.
Oh wow, that's great! I'll look into them!
You have to be careful about reviews.. The business of Gastric surgery in Mexico is competitive. They pay people to write good reviews and also pay them to write fake bad reviews of their competition. The coordinator companies can be annoying and they do tell you everything you want to hear. That being said the surgery is life changing and it doesn't really seem to be a complicated surgery.. My mother had it in TJ 3 years ago and my sister had it 1 year ago and I'm going this month.. Good luck to you.
I can definitely believe that. Some o the reviews sounds to good to be true. Where are you thinking of going?
I am sleeved.! I went with Dr. Almanza in TJ Mexico. I signed up with weightloss agents but didn't give them my real phone number as I didn't want them constantly calling me trying to get me to commit and pay a deposit. I also explored trying to book directly with Dr. Mario Almonza (Not sure if I'm spelling his last name right) but the price was the same.. So, in the end I went through Weightlosss agents to book it. They were very annoying before I committed to the surgery but after I paid the deposit they were really great and I'm glad I went through them. They handled everything very well and even the questions I have now post surgery they answer if they can or they get the Doctor to answer usually within an hour. I'm 10 days post op and having a lot of gas (Burping and stuff) it's annoying but not bad.. Also, I am still on Clear liquids as my esphagus didn't handle protein shakes very well. I'll start on the shakes again in 2 days. Getting better every day though.. Dr. Almonza and his team are really top notch. I couldn't recommend them more.
Scheduled wt him July 14...
Update: I ended up going with A Slimmer Me. I saw a few of their past patients on Instagram so I know I can believe their video reviews. I've paid for the down payment and scheduled for the 4th, the same day Dr. M offered me. I'll try to write a review through my experience. And if anyone wants to verify I'm real, I can provide. Y Instagram account. I won't be posting any surgery stuff on there though. Good luck to everyone and hope whatever doctor see we end up choosing works out for us all. Helen
My worry with them is that they might be doing an plication instead of the gastric sleeve because their prices are so low. I've read that many doctors in Mexico that offer cheap prices are not stapling the entire sleeve.
Best of luck to you! Let me know how things go.
Oh wow, now I'm worried :( What is an plication?
Is a similar to the sleeve except the stomach is folded instead of stapled. The patient still loses weight, but will eventually stop I guess. I read It on a blog I found. Who knows if it's true or just more competitors.
Hi I'm also looking to go to Mexico for the gastric sleeve . I've been doing a lot of research and torn between two surgeon dr illan or dr m . Looking to get it done this august
