I’m a 70 year old widow. I’ve recently lost weight, from a size 14 to a 6. That definitely took a toll on my face with sagging. I checked locally, Daytona Beach Fl., for the cost of an eyebrow lift, lower eye lift, face lift and neck lift. Approximately $30,000. I had previously had, at age 49, a forehead lift, upper and lower eyes, face lift and liposuction on my neck. I decided to research overseas options. I found Top Plastic Surgeons Mexico. I could have all my necessary procedures for $5990. That includes, hotel, local transportation and care for 9 days. Hardly a choice. I traveled alone from Orlando to Mexico City. Via Jet Blue, direct flights round for $250. With $6,000 cash. I have lived in Italy, Japan
and Germany so I had little apprehension of traveling outside the USA. Two very important facts so far.
1-I’ve had similar surgery and 2-I’m comfortable with foreigners.
I am more than satisfied at 7 days out. I’m home with another week or so of rest for the swelling and slight black and blue in my chin area to subside.
This trip and procedures are not for everyone. I interacted with 3 other Americans there for their procedures. 2 were nose jobs, with liposuction and tummy tucks. 1 was just a nose job. Very varied opinions. Varied due to lack of knowledge on their procedures. I had previously had plastic surgery so knew what to expect. I had also interacted with non-Americans so didn’t expect fluent English.
My whole hearted advice, understand what you’re doing. The pain involved, being thousands of miles from your home (nest). My procedures were basically pain free, although the swelling and black and blue were expected. A slight headache and tightness due to swelling. If you have pain it’s not because you went to Mexico to have your procedures done it’s the procedure. Don’t get frustrated with the lack of English spoken you’re in Mexico they speak Spanish. I found the people of Mexico wonderful. Extremely friendly. But you get what you give out. I didn’t [RS bleep], I treated my doctor, nurses, hotel staff and drivers with respect. My female doctor took me to the local mall for a haircut. We had dinner, a glass of wine and a good time. My steward at the hotel greeted me every morning with “hello lady, my friend “ believe me when I say if you’re in the right mindset this experience can be delightful. It’s not for everyone. Do your research on your procedures. Don’t have unrealistic expectations. Treat the Mexican people with respect.
If I had it all to do over again, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. But if I had $30,000 + I would have done everything stateside. Always more comfortable in your own surroundings.
I hope this helps in some small way.
