I have an amazing life, but my weight was getting...
I have an amazing life, but my weight was getting in the way of being able to enjoy it to the fullest! I had tried everything to lose weight... you name the diet, I've tried it. I lost my Mom and my weight was the highest (390) I had the lap-band. I did take weigh off, but gained it back... just like every other thing that I'd tried. Fast forward to June 2016... I added up how many pounds that I had lost in my lifetime... 575 pounds!! And I was still almost my biggest. (378) I was embarrassed that in all other areas of my life I was successful, but not at keeping the weight off!
That is when I started researching what my options were. The Duodenal switch is the strongest of all the weight loss surgeries. That is what I needed!! I needed to find a surgeon that specializes in this surgery.
I decided to go with Dr. Esquerra down in Mexicali, with Mexicali Bariatrics. He and his team were lovely to work with. I was treated with such kindness and respect. It's been over a year since I had my surgery, and I have lost 208 pounds. I have been maintaining that loss 5.5 months.
When I'm asked if I would do it again, my answer is I would do it again once a month if I had to to get the results that I did. It's been incredible!!

I think that Dr. Esquerra was awesome and so was the rest of the team. The care that I received there was far superior to the care I received in the states when I had the lap-band. I wish you the very best.
