Month out....

$23,500
I'm a little late in posting my month updates ( was last week), but I'm finally feeling better after getting over a nasty seasonal cold.

Overall I'm feeling great, went back to work after 11 days as I had a lot of commitments in October. I took it easy first week back, took another week after my return to get back to my regular energy level.
Got my first drain out on day 8 but my second lasted 3 WEEKS!!!.... Lawd have mercy is all I can say to that .
Healing is going well on incisions, PS has me in scar tape right now, left breast dropping nicely now just need the right to get with the program.
Posting a few pics, and hoping to have even better results in a few more weeks...:)

Thanks for posting this. I am 5 days post op, emotions all over the place. Helps to see what it looks like at 1 month, not just 6 months later. SM in BR
I totally understand, I was tired of being hunched over and had cabin fever. It truly gets better every day, hope your recovery continues nicely. Hopefully you won't have drains in as long as I did but if you do message me cuz I became a master at hiding them under my work clothes... Lol

10 days post

10 days P.O....Frankenbarbie !

Well I'm 10 days post and feeling pretty darn good. Have one stubborn drain left but as of this morning I still had 39cc's of output and the magic number for my PS to remove is 10 in a 24 hour period.
Like most I have a love/hate relationship with my binder , I know I need to wear it to promote healing but in my mind I imagine a bonfire where my binder, lanyard, drains, and gauze pads go up in flames... Lol
I'm returning to work tomorrow so I am spending this lazy Sunday trying to figure out fashionable outfits to conceal my binder and one remaining drain...Can we say black, loose sheath dress, blazer , booties, and chunky jewelry .. Haha
Hope all my ladies out there that I've been following are having the results they dreamt of..,
Here's my pic 10 days out, luckily not much swelling but definitely feeling like Frankenbarbie !

Hi.. How are you doing?
Hi there,

I'm doing great, I was off 11 days from work and started back on Monday the 5th. My healing is coming Ali g great, struggling with energy level about 75%.
I've been taking it easy where I can but I definitely feel wiped and night and have a sore back.
Want to post some updated pics cuz my PS just took off my dermabond she used to close me in surgery and I'm now wearing scar tape. I haven't posted new pics as I still have 1 stubborn drain in my left hip... Lol consequently I'm still in my binder but as of the past 24 hours I'm down to 25cc's and the magic number is under 10. I'm hoping for Monday to be drain free and into a compression garment like Spanx.
I work in Luxury sales , I have had to get creative with my work wardrobe to hide my binder and drain....haha
Well I'm glad to hear your doing well! I'm surprised your back at work already.. But then again a lot of women seem to get going a lot sooner than I would expect! Take care and I'll be waiting to see some pictures soon! Your transformation is going to be incredible!! Hugs~
You look phenomenal! Why are you not sure?

Happy healing
Hi sweetie! You really look great! How does it feel to stand up? I've heard that it's hard to the first week or so...
I think it would be way worse if I had MR , mine was lipo and skin only. It is rough getting out of bed but once I get walking I am about 85% erect. Gets better every day ...
Congratulations! Your boobies look so good!
Thanks so much! No more asymmetry and droopy puppy ears... Lol
Amazing!!! Your doctor did an incredible job!!! I went back and looked at your before pics...you are flatter than flat....maybe flatter than a supermodel....lol...and your breast are a perfect size for your new body....you seem to have no swelling....are you doing anything special....btw...super happy for you;)
Thank you so much , I still can't believe it's me. Been trying to be a good patient and drink tons of water and been eating lots of protein ( shakes , Greek yogurt with berries, some grilled fish or chicken with veggies for dinner. I have a little swelling but an hopeful it will dissipate once I get into a compression garment vs the binder I've been wearing.
I'll post more pics after I get drains out today...:)
Congrats on your progress. Presurgery you mentioned purchasing many items at Walgreens. Post surgery would you share what items you really have used vs all the items you purchased. Thanks! How is your bed cushion working out?
Haha yes I definitely bought a lot , surprisingly have used a lot. Here's a lil list and hope it helps:
1. Bed lounge: awesome, was great first few nights because when skin is pulled tight in TT you can't lay flat and has great lumbar support . I will continue using it to read in bed .
2. Thermometer (10.00) to make sure you aren't running a fever
3. Small scissors to cut gauze
4. A cane (15.00) , so glad I had it helps give stability getting around because you are hunched over .
5. Baby powder and wipes because it help keep me fresh under my binder until I could shower .
6. Meds... Tylenol ( I went off Oxy 3rd day), Benadryl in case you itch from pain meds.
7. Lanyard to hang drains from
8. Maxi pads .. I bought thin ones and put them over my TT incisions under binder and gave more cushion than gauze.
9. 4x4 gauze to wear under surgical bra to cover incisions and cover your nipple.
10. Water... Sounds silly but I drank a lot of propel water to help flush my system and help in the healing process with added bonus of electrolytes.
11. Smooth move tea and a probiotic to help you with constipation.
12. Peroxide / alcohol

What I'm glad I didn't buy:
I had read a lot of people saying they took pre and post vitamins and arnica. I'm sure they have great benefits but after consulting with my PS she didn't want me starting a new ritual prior to surgery.
I did give up alcohol for the month leading up to surgery, cut back on caffeine, increased my protein intake ( ate lots of fish and chicken), and tons of water everyday .

I know that's a long list but hope it helps...:)
Thanks for that list. My similar surgery is nov 17. Can you share what you did to physically get your body ready for this surgery the months prior. Extra back exercises, cardio etc. thanks so much!!
You know, in retrospect I would focus more on my core and back exercises because you need that stability initially when you are hunched over. Even now at just over 2 weeks guess it's my back trying to compensate for my implants.
I am by no means an exercise nut but because this was such a huge investment I really wanted to have the best possible outcome.
I just had my 2 week post op and my doc said I am healing like her patients at 4 weeks so that made me feel good .
I truly believe my diet had a lot to do with it by increasing my protein intake ( I love fish tacos so I ate them a lot, fresh tuna, grilled chicken, I eat boiled eggs daily) I had read that eating pineapple promotes healing and helps with bruising. I ate a lot of it throughout the month either in shakes or with my Greek yogurt. I drink tons of water and being hydrated helps healing as well.

I'm an open book, feel free to ask anything , and I'm happy to share anything that will make your process easier.
