I just want to pay it forward. Thank you all so much for giving me the confidence to have my 500 cc silicone implants removed. Did this when I was young and naive. Now that I am more mature and more sure of myself I am ready to have them out. Still worrying like crazy but I just have to push thru and do it. Things will work out like they should. I am having the explant done then I will let my breast heal for about 6 months then I may have to consider a lift. I am 46 years old, 5'6" and about 130 lbs. I don't know how my skin will be if it will have any "bounce back" or not. We shall see.

Haha. I meant good for you for making the decision to go back to the natural you. This site and all the wonderful women here may have helped but it takes a strong, brave woman to make the final decision and go through it. ;)

hello missymae, i'm in your neck of the woods, ha, i'm a couple hours southeast of tucson. i had my explantation on april 15, it'll be 2 weeks tomorrow. i see my dr. in tucson this friday so we'll she what she thinks so far. she told me she didn't think i'd need a lift and that i might just be surprised at how resilient our bodies can be. will revisit that later if necessary but frankly i'm so thin these days there wouldn't have been anything to lift. i had saline implants and no complications at the time of surgery so it only took a little over an hour and she did me en bloc as i requested. good luck sweetie!

Good Morning Lovely Ladies! I woke up this morning to thoughts and questions about what my limitations are going to be after surgery. My doctor and I didn't really discuss that yet and I want to be prepared for what I can't do and for how long. I read some reviews about some members building fluid up because they did too much too soon. Your advice would mean alot to me. Thanks! :-)

Most of us have worn compression and drains after surgery to prevent fluid build up post op. I am two weeks post op and able to remove the ace wrap and compression bra. As far as limits...my restrictions were not to lift, pull or push anything over 5 pounds for 3 weeks and no reaching away from the body for 2 weeks. It may also depend on the amount of surgery. Mine was 4 1/2 hours. Good luck to you!

Yep, I had a drain on my damaged side for 5 days, compression for two weeks, and I have to wear a sports bra for another two weeks. Seroma is the main concern for the first two weeks especially for those of us with encapsulation. I was told not to lift, pull, or push more than 10 pounds, and not to reach beyond comfortable limits.

Thank you for sharing on RealSelf! It sounds like you have a healthy attitude about this and are ready to be au naturel!

Here's what some doctors say about explantation recovery. I hope you find it helpful.

Please keep us posted as you get nearer the big day. Only two more weeks!
