The Damage

Alright - here are the before pics so you get to see the loveliness that is my belly. Ugh.

After having my first emergency c section in '99...

After having my first emergency c section in '99 with a vertical incision, my belly has been a disaster. I work out diligently in boot camp, but nothing makes a difference in my midsection. I would really just like to not look like I'm pregnant and be able to wear appropriately sized clothing instead of having to wear clothes that are a size too big in order to hide my stomach. It's very frustrating and causes issues with my self confidence every time someone asks me when the baby is due or when I catch glimpse of my side profile in the mirror. I am happy with the rest of my body and can workout to tone everything else up. I don't have any great goal of being able to wear a bikini or anything of that nature - I really just want to get my midsection in alignment with the rest of my body. Right now my only reservations are my own - I just need to get comfortable with the idea of an elective surgery strictly for my own vain reasons. Also, I'm nervous with the idea of being put to sleep for such a long procedure. I fear I won't wake up and will just die right on the table. That is my biggest fear honestly. I am also a little worried about the recovery process. Although i've had 3 c sections, I know that this is something entirely different. It would also be difficult with a toddler running around the house, but my husband is amazing and I know he would take care of everything. I just hate to put so much on him while I recover. I also am a bit worried about how much time I would have to take off of work. Ideally I would be able to start working again after 2 weeks off - I have no intentions of telling anyone about the procedure. I am wondering if I would really be able to go back to work so quickly and not have any issues. I work in an office in a professional environment so it's not the workload that concerns me - more so my ability to get to my office and sit down and manage any pain without anyone knowing what's going on. Fortunately we have some flexibility with telecommuting so thats really good. I am learning a lot from reading everyone's reviews on the site, so please continue to post. Some stories are scary while others seem to work perfectly with no issues. I hope that my experience ends up being the latter. Looking forward to sharing my story with the community. I am in need of a tummy tuck with muscle repair for my diastasis and some lipo of the back as well.

I recently had a very pleasant consultation with Dr. Aldea. It was clear that he is very knowledgeable about his field and takes great pride in his work. He also seems to truly care for the outcome and well being of the patient. I look forward to scheduling my procedure with Dr. Aldea.
