I expect a huge difference in my appearance. I've lost over 150 pounds in 2 1/2 years. I need this extra skin off!! I can't remember the last time I had no belly bulging over my jeans. I've paid my surgeon's fee and it's about to get REAL! LOL! I'm 5 weeks away from my surgery date. I'm excited and nervous at the same time!

Congratulations on your weight loss. Dr. Johnson did my tt last summer. He has the nicest bedside manner and his staff is excellent. He really cares about making you look the way you want to look. I'm not done yet, though. I want to get the fat off my back now! If you have any questions, I'm here because I'm a 7 months postop Johnson Doll! Best wishes to you and I can't wait to see your pictures!

Thank you! I have plenty of questions! The main question is about the drains! I'm dreading those!!! How did you do with those? What tips/suggestions do you have?

I only had the drains in for two days. Dr. Johnson did my surgery Monday, then took them up on my follow up that Wednesday. He does not let them stay in long because of the risk of infection. You may find a shower chair handy. My mother in law let me borrow hers and a walker which was handy the first two days. I have a high bed, but my biggest help was a bed wedge that kept me from laying flat. Cough drops come in handy because coughing hurts like hell. Go easy on the salt because of swelling. Now that he has completed my tt, I am going back for my back bulges this summer. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much for the info! I have a high bed too and was worried about pulling my incisions if I stretched while getting in the bed. Any problems with that?

No, just make sure you don't lay flat. It will hurt. I moved in and out of bed very slowly. I had t walker bedside. You will need something to prop you up. I have a memory foam bed wedge that helped me. I was able to sleep on it the whole time. I have a zero gravity chair, but didn't use it much. I also had a pillow under my knees too. I know this is a lot, but it is important to be comfortable the first week post op.

I'm super excited and almost counting the minutes until I don't have to wear a girdle or put deodorant under my belly! I'm not nervous at all but hoping and praying that nothing stops me from having my surgery. My husband is a little nervous/concerned about how much cutting that has to be done. His nervousness kinda makes me think about if I'm making the right decision because he's never nervous about this. All I can do is pray for the best outcome. My biggest concern is that I'll be one of the "lopsided" cases! I'm going to flipping lose it if I am! Lord help me!!

Good luck!! Everything will be ok :) I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I would say the second day was the worse but the third day is better. Just make sure you have all your errans, chores, etc done ahead of time lol. Take colace right away! Constipation is no fun! I haven't had an issue at all :)
