These scabs are epic!
$1,250
It's so hard for me to not rip them off. But I won't: 1. I would likely bleed to death and 2. I heard they help with initial fading- or something like that so I won't chance it.
Still pretty gross down there. But I can see fading so that's good. BTW, I'm still in the market for a rat that will just chew all of them off in one go if I can find one. I swear on the life of my mother, it could not hurt worse than these treatments.

Morehealing, definitely scabbing...gross but still...
Dolphin is textbook. Doing fine. As you can see the tribal is coming along. I think I'm going to be fairly happy with the fading after it's said and done for this first go round. Considering it was nearly burnt to the freaking bone, how much ink can possibly be left???!!

Good to see the skin is regenerating and healing. Looks like that treatment was very aggressive! I hope everything heals up for you.

Finally some healing going on....
I've been letting the "massive wound" (hell, I think I should give it a name), breathe for a bit and it's started to scab a bit and the redness has really improved. The pain is less today as well. I've been putting a thin layer of antibiotic on it and wrapping it really loosely when I have to but trying to leave it alone. The swelling has gone done around it and it doesn't look quite so deep. I still don't think it will every be normal but it's better. You can see a couple of little parts in the front photo that are smooth and lighter. I think it's all supposed to look like that.....
I've also included a photo of the back of my leg, part of the tribal will remain back there since it's intertwined. This one doesn't bother me as much - out of sight, out of mind.

I had my first laser removal done on April 9, 2014. It's a tribal ankle band about a inch wide. The nurse came in and numbed the entire area with 2% Lidocaine and then the doctor came in and went to work. All of mine frosted and stated that way for about 30 mins. The first few days wasn't to bad. The next few days not to bad either however, I did have a few small blisters that came up. Now the start of the 3rd week post treatment was HELL. The itching was awful to say the least. I tried everything they said to use nothing worked. I ended up using a Eczema OTC cream that is Colloidal oatmeal worked like a charm. The dry skin on it looks pretty nasty on it now but it has stopped itching. It does feel slightly raised to the touch. I'm scheduled for treatment #2 on May 7, 2014

Hi, I looked at your photos...our tribals look somewhat similar...and yours does look like it faded to gray pretty well. Oh, how I wish I'd had injections of anything. I didn't bring my numbing cream so she only used that crappy "cold air" on me and honestly, I've been asked before if it frosted and I just remembered that I really have no idea. You saying that it lasts only 30 minutes makes me think it probably did since I didn't remove my bandage til the next day. It would have gone away by then. I didn't see either one right after treatment as I was crying so bad and exhausted from the pain, and honestly just didn't care. It only took 12 minutes for each. I may have to try that cream as the only thing that helped me was ice which is hard to do at work. I really thought I might lose my mind at times from the itching. Will you be completely healed in 4 weeks? It will probably take me 8-10 unfortunately. But we'll see.

Hey my ankle is about 2 and 1/2 weeks post first laser treatment and most of it is healed however there is a part (the part that is a cover up if you look at my profile) that is healing the same exact way as your tribal! Very red and deep, looks like it may scar. I don't know what to do, if I cover it with antibiotic ointment and a bandage it just stays very moist and never scabs up. If I let it breathe it scabs but the skin is very rough and hard to move around and super painful! When did yours finally start to heal? Any recommendations? My doctor just keeps telling me to keep it moist with auqaphor but it really seems to be doing more harm than good at this point.

Oh and also my doctor said it is normal for certain parts to heal quicker than others, it depends on the amount of ink and how hard the tattoo artist went :(

Hi there, yep, same issue here. I got some non stick gauze bandages (these really help) and put just a really thin layer of antibiotic and wrapped it really loose, just enough for protection from my pants rubbing on it and germs I guess. Did that a couple of days then rubbed coconut oil on it before bed, stopped wrapping it and looked down one morning and it had scabbed over. I do believe (IMHO) it's got to breathe if it's every going to scab, and that's the only way for it to heal that I know of. and WOW, I just checked out your page. First off, I think your tattoo was/is really pretty but that's neither here nor there as we all have our reasons for disliking them. I think your pain levels you describe seem pretty normal to me. And in that last photo it seems like the fading especially at the top of the wave was amazing! I might have to travel to find a picosure for this dolphin.
About shoes...I chose to get the treatments in the summer so I could wear flip flops and sandals as much as possible. I don't know what kind of job you have but mine is corporate and I wear flared really long dress pants with heels. I have some that don't touch my instep that I wear during initial healing and the pants are so long that no bandages or really even most of my shoes show. Even if I put a bandage on it for a day or so. Now that's for the dolphin. The tribal isn't seen. The option of summer dresses or capris at work is so long gone I barely remember it. And don't mention a summer formal function or wedding etc to me as I'll go into a fetal position in the corner out of sheer anxiety.
But even despite that section that looks deep, I think it will be okay, that's the coverup part, right? And I do see where that would be pretty painful as every step your ankle moves. This tribal was somewhat of a coverup of a small vine that had pretty much been lasered off, but I thought it looked "gross" and decided to get it covered...and oh my, how I laugh about that now....

I completely understand where you're coming from about wearing capris and dresses it's so upsetting...but I just think that maybe this time next year I'll be able to wear them! (hopefully) Thanks for saying my tattoo is pretty, I'm not removing the entire thing just the coverup part because it was done very poorly and I was told to get laser by a few different artists because the ink he used was so deep none of them would touch it to fix it up due to the fear of ruining my skin. So I'm hoping for full removal on the ankle part and just get my foot part touched up eventually. You should really try to find a picosure near you, the doc I'm going to said she thinks about 5 treatments for full removal but I'm gonna be waiting months between treatments to get the best fading so maybe less than 5! I'm also hoping that as this starts to heal more I will try to cover it up with makeup for going out and stuff in the summer. You should look into dermablend or some other tattoo makeup so you can go to summer functions! I know it's a shitty feeling getting tattoos removed and a lot of people don't understand but I just try to think there are way worse things in life.
