I am just updating my review. I have had 7 surgeries by a Burn Plastic Surgeon at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. I owe everything to this man. No one else would touch my face. Am I still self conscious about my face ? Yes, absolutely. I have scarring on one side that looks like acne I haven’t had a problem with acne as a child or adult. My Dr is going to inject them next month to flatten them hopefully with steroids. The BBL hopefully will help with the redness. I still cannot open my mouth very wide so it is a problem at the dentist. I still have a lot of scarring but I believe we are currently at a stand still. I will continue to update and let you know about the Broad Band Light procedures go

Jeann you asked me about bbl treatments and I said no but I just looked it up and it’s the same as IPL and I have done a few with no great results

Have your doctor order BIAFINE. I'm still dealing with my Co2 laser done in June 2018. Tried everything for redness. Finally, the surgeon sent me to one of the top 10 dermatologist in the US. He help develop some of the laser therapies used today. He suggested the BIAFINE. That was the only cream that worked. After using it for a few months, almost all of the redness is gone. Unfortunately this wonderful doctor passed away unexpectedly at 50. Shocking. I only had one IPL treatment and was to have 3-5 more. So, it's BIAFINE you will see a difference.

I keep you in my prayers Jean. I know how very very hard this is, because I went thru it too when I was 21, now age 60. God will make you strong, and your condition WILL continue to improve. Did you ever try the aloe plant, not the gel in a bottle, but the actual plant? Cut off part and put in the fridge, slice long peices
off and lay on your skin. It helped me. Mine are burns from liquid nitrogen. I figure a burn is a burn. Ask your doctor first, but it is all natural and has been used for hundreds, probably thousands of years. Huge hugs and love to you.

jean, just like everyone else I’m so sorry that this happened to you. Those drs should lose their license.
I have very red skin in many spots on my face and discovered a product from It cosmetics called bye bye red. It truly works to knock out the red in my skin. It’s not cheap but it does the job. Please give this a try as it may help. Best wishes for your future.

This is the one year anniversary of my Burn from the CO2 laser. It certainly looks better because of Dr Blair Summitt in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt. It is still very noticeable and I am very self conscious. With make up , it covers some but , of course, not totally. These are some pics for the one year anniversary. Blessings to all of you who have taken time to text me, wish me well, pray for me or just stand in the corner for me. I appreciate you more than words. Blessings , Jean Dodds

Jody , you are so sweet !! Thank you for your encouragement. Since my last laser treatment I have had several scars come back. Not sure why. I will not see my Dr at Vanderbilt until Jan. I don’t know how much more he is going to do. He says you get to a point you are wasting your money. Will keep you posted. Thank you !! Blessings

Hi Chris, how are you ? I hope better !! I am still getting treatments. My Dr did say that sometimes you max out and there’s not much else you can do. On one side of my face I have 6 hypertrophic scars. They look like acne. I am going to talk to him next month about the F/U product to see if he injected each one , would it help ? This has been such a nightmare. I know you do know how I feel. I am still so self conscious of my scars. I feel like I am a totally different person. I use to be very outgoing and happy and friendly. I feel I am no longer any of those things. When I talk to people I feel they are looking right at my scars. It really changes you, doesn’t it ? I hope you have been able to find some help. Blessings, Jean

Hi Jean I just found your message, yes it does change you as a person and I also feel self conscious about my scarring. As much as people (family and doctors) say that people don’t notice it’s a lie because I have been sitting in coffee shops and have caught people staring and then they quickly look away!. So yes I know how you feel,it’s like you are in limbo and just want your old life back!.I do wish you all the best and hope you have a merry Xmas. Chrisxx

Hey Chris, hope u had a wonderful Christmas. I see people staring at my face all the time. My friends say , it looks so much better, it may look better than one year ago but it’s still there and I see it everyday. I always think, what if was on your face ???
December 26, 2018
Hi Jean,Yes I agree,it’s easy for people to say things as it’s not them going through the trauma.I think that is why this site helps because unless they are experiencing laser damage they really have no idea!.As time goes on for me,as I’ve said before my scarring is bad but the fat loss is just horrible!.It has slowed down now but is still happening and I just watch as my cheeks get flatter and my face looks emaciated. So if you have no fat loss look on it as a positive!.I hope you had a great Xmas and wishing you the very best for the new year!. Chrisx

Happy New Year Chris from Australia !! Hope you have a great 2019. Hugs from Tennessee !!

I am so sorry you had this experience. I agree with the comment below. You have to sue these doctors, practice. This is the reason why medical malpractice insurance exists. So when something goes wrong the patient can be compensated even if just for pain and suffering. Also if it where me, I would launch a social media campaign against this practice. Making all potential patient aware of your experience. Blessing to you!

Today is October 8, 2018, it has been almost one year since the 2 Drs in Memphis ruined my face. It has been the worst year of my life. It has been devastating. I am continuing to see my Burn Plastic Surgeon in Nashville, TN. I am about to have my 5th surgery. I think it looks better but nothing like my skin used to be. However the Dr did tell me my face and texture would never be the same. But, I am grateful for Dr Blair Summitt Burn Specialist.

I suffered burns to my entire face 35 years ago, it was called Cryotherapy using dry ice. It was the most horrible thing that ever happened to me. Things are better now after treatments with a trusted plastic surgeon. Have any of your Dr.s recommended Aloe Vera? Not from a bottle, but the actual plant. It can do wonders with burns. Buy a 1 to 5 gallon plant, pot it or put it in the ground. (I don't think they do well in the cold, but can be grown indoors in a sunny spot) Break off a piece, they keep growing so the plant can be perpetual, and has babies that pop up around it and on it's flower stalks. I have cut slices, just a few at a time and put them in a plastic bag in the fridge. Lay the slices on your burns while you are sitting or laying down. You are looking so much better. How about silicone cream or patches. have they spoken to you about that? I good results with that as well, but didn't know about it until years later, and read I might have had even better results had I started sooner. You are not alone. I couldn't sleep tonight so I got up then saw your story which is so similar to mine. I was only 22 at the time. What got me through was repeating this prayer, everyday as many times a day as I needed it. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". This WILL get better for you!!! Thank God for Dr. Summitt!
