So I found this website when I was trying to find out info on surgeons in Adelaide. I'm booked to have my operation on Monday October 13th, so I'm getting pretty nervous. I've only had one consult with Prof David but we seem to have the same understanding of what I want. Anything I should be prepared for etc? Pain? Swelling and bruises I know are a given.... anyone with info would be good.

Thought I would put some before pics up. The end of my nose is quite large nostril wise and I have a bump. This has made me a very self conscious person over the years and back in the day I copped a lot from mean girls at school..... which has permanently stuck in my mind. Hoping Professor David will do a good job and shaping it for me. I know I'm in good hands but I'm so afraid. Thanks to this site, I have had a few lovely girls contact me. One who had Prof David as her surgeon and was very happy, and another who is on the other side of the world but is scheduled for her rhinoplasty on Monday 13th October too! .Never had surgery in my life. Only 6 sleeps!

I felt the same as you before my rhinoplasty and copped a lot of nasty comments about it. Having the surgery has changed my life so much and I have never looked back! You have beautiful features and a new nose will really accentuate them :) I really look forward to seeing your results, if you have any questions send me a message - I also had my surgery in Australia, in Brisbane.

Best of luck with your upcoming surgery! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I felt no pain at all from it!

Thankyou. I keep having dreams about being put to sleep. Its not fun. Lol im such a wuss. I just want it to be done! Excited tho. How was your swelling?

I didn't even realize when I was being put to sleep. They put a mask on my face and asked me to breath in. I wasn't sure what it was for, ha, but then the next thing was me waking up. It wasn't at all scary or anything. My face got really swollen days 3-5. I couldn't even smile and my face looked super long. But by day 7 (I think) I was smiling again and looked much more normal! I had just under two weeks before I went back to work and no one noticed a thing...

We all dread the unknown of what can happen under anesthesia. You are a young healthy person you will be just fine. I was nervous as well but the closer to my surgery I wasn't so nervous anymore just wanted it over. You will do fine!

I'm so sorry!! It will get better just have to be patient. Have you told your Dr that you are miserable and see if they can prescribe you something for it? I didn't feel that bad just a stuffy nose. Hang in there kiddo!!

Best of lucky for Monday. I had my surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was so scared to have it done. My husband and mum where so supportive of my choice. I only told one close friend and she couldn't understand why I did it. Make sure you stock up on cold water or juice, a mouth spray as it will be sore for a few days after, arnica cream and a vaporiser for your room while you sleep. I had a lot of internal stitches as I had sinus surgery as well so I couldn't breath through my nose for a few weeks. I didn't have much pain from the nose and only took meds for a few days. It's more the sore mouth from breathing through it. Just expect not the sleep for a few nights and you will be fine. I just watched TV a bit. I was also really worried about waking up from surgery and not being able to breath through my nose. It was totally fine. So I haven't told anyone but three people about the surgery. To look at it's such a small difference but to me it's huge. You will be fine : )
