Tray 13- Hello gaps!
I haven't done any updates for ages but still going strong with my Invisalign journey! I am now on the final day of tray 12 and will be swapping to tray 13 tonight. Must say I am very used to the Invisalign now and it feels more strange when they aren't in. Biggest issues have probably just been when I was travelling in America I dropped down on the hygiene a little as I may not have had the nicest bathrooms around and didn't really want to brush my teeth in public restrooms. Would just swish water through my mouth and pop the trays back in, worked fine! I haven't developed any cavities and my dentist is pretty happy with how clean my teeth are. Before I got Invisalign I never flossed but I will definitely do so in the future! Other issue is probably on long days/nights out where there is a lot of talking my mouth can get a bit cut up. I usually take my trays out for a few hours. I would probably average 2.5 hours a day without my Invisalign and then if I'm out on a Saturday/Friday night it may jump up to 5. Hasn't hindered my progress so far (fingers crossed). I am noticing a lot of gaps in my teeth particularly on my right side which don't look the best.... hoping when my teeth move more these gaps will disappear!
Day Five- the lisp!!
So today is my fifth day using the aligners. Good news now is that my teeth are no longer super sensitive and a few options have been added back into my diet. My number one problem at the moment is my lisp! I have been travelling for work this week at a training conference and have not had much practice talking with them in but when I do its awful. I find I have a gap at the back of my front two teen where the aligner pulls back from my teeth where it should be reaching the gumline. I find my tongue and spit almost gets caught there when I speak.. Also a little bit at the front where spit develops at the top of my aligner. Did anyone else find this? I am not sure if this will go away..
I'm also finding five days in that the trays are getting pretty gunky.. I have been really good in terms of brushing and flossing and rinsing them in water each time I take out so I purchased an ultrasonic cleaner on Amazon.. Hoping this will help!

I am 26yr old from VIC and have always hated my teeth (particularly as due to crowding/grinding they are getting worse each year) and always considered Invisalign. My friend is a dental assistant and told me about her dentist who already supplied traditional braces was looking to get qualified with Invisalign and needed someone to start the process with. I only pay the actual Invisalign fees so it costs half the price and this is probably what gave me the final push. I went to the course with her where some Invisalign teachers/experts all took impressions of my teeth and I believe they worked through the treatment plan with my dentist. In the end I chose a 26 tray one year option which will get my teeth looking pretty great! The option I chose however unfortunately includes a LOT of attachments all on my front teeth so it is not that invisible at all. Currently on day three I have noticed a lot of soreness and I have a pretty bad lisp (however this is getting better). My mouth puffs out a tiny bit so I hope this and my lisp settles as these are probably the main indicators to my Invisalign. One plus is that when flossing I have already noticed a bit more space available! The big issue for me will probably be on nights out where I usually drink and have dinner I will be very tempted to leave the trays out for a bit longer than the one hour! I get my attachments in a week and a half when I start my next tray. Let the countdown begin!!
