I showered before my appointment today and has a tremendous bought of nausea. I have had intermittent difficulties with nausea but this morning was particularly difficult. In truth my caloric intake has been dismal the last two weeks which surely attributes to my exhaustion and nauseaus. One of my drains was removed which has been a huge relief. It hurt coming out and although I am looking forward to the removal of the second drain next week; I am also stressed about the pain.

I'm a bit concerned today because one of my drains has pulled away from my skin. The stitches are no longer attached and the tube had migrated out. It's painful. The other one is secured fine. My 24 hour drainage this morning was 30cc and it's the higher output drain that has pulled free. Not sure what to do at this point.

HI there,I'm looking at surgery with Michael Diaz in Melbourne thus coming December. I live in New Zealand, but my mother in law lives in Melbourne. Can you check with your surgeon about your drains? Or do you have to wait until Monday?

I spoke to her and let her know what was happening. She advised me to tape them in place to prevent further slipping. That increased my comfort level as far since the stitch was no longer pulling at my skin. She called me the next day to check on me. I appreciated her phone call and her encouragement.

Since I overdid things on Tuesday, I've been pretty stationary the last 48 hours. Sitting and doing virtually nothing is very hard for me but I manage. I have been measuring my 24 hour drain input each morning because the sooner these things come out the better. I am down to 30cc this morning for the last 24 hours. One drain was 5cc and the other was 25cc. My incisions are itchy where they are scabbed over so that is annoying but not unbearable. I coughed yesterday and while it was sore it was not debilitating like it has been in the past so I'm counting that as a good sign.
