Slept without a bra two nights in a row. How nice! Still have a tiny opening in the incision that goes from my nipple to the base of my breast. Airport travel has not been my friend. Dragging luggage from gat A to Gate E has its issues!
I promised to show my "BEFORE" picture and just got it today from Nurse Barb. Shot their hard copy pic with my cell phone, so the quality is not great. What will be clear is what a positive change Dr. Amy Ortega has made. When I saw the old me again, I could hardly believe it! After my incisions fade in a few months I'll update with a newer image.

You look so great!! Hope my result is just like yours! Happy for you! :)
Thanks! Have you decided on your surgeon?
Yes! I also chose Dr. Ortega!! Nov 17th.
Cool! Explant and lift or just explant?
Explant and lift.
I may have to drive down to see her. :) She really does good work. You look amazing. Airports are rough without the additional burden. Glad you're back safe.
Just read your story and looked at your photos. NICE! What a difference, you must be so pleased! Did your doc remove the capsules too? Those were some archaic implants girl! How fortunate that you never had issues with them. Happy healing and enjoy your new body! :)
Thank you! My capsules were very thin. When I got the pre-surgery ultrasound, the tech said they were the thinnest capsules she ever had seen. My doc agreed and we left them in with no problems. Since the implants were removed, the chronic case of heat rash around my breasts is finally gone! I still can't get over how perky they look. :))
It's wonderful hearing stories like yours. Gives me so much hope.

Healing well and glad I did it!

It's been a little over a month and I'm much more comfortable. I really turned the corner when I could start sleeping on my side. Sleeping on my back was really wearing me down. Also, I never thought I'd say I like compression bras, but I do now! It helps stabilizes my breasts and keeps swelling down. Word to the wise... avoid bumpy roads. Those unpaved roads cause a lot of jiggling that not only hurts while while you're driving, but later on your healing breasts feels like they were used as punching bags.
It appears that I may be a smallish D-cup, which amazes me. Thought I would be a small C. Go figure! The incisions are healing well although my smaller righty is slower healing at the base of my breast and was still draing a little until yesterday. The incisions look a bit more red in these pics than they actually are. I have more feeling in my nipples than I did WITH the implants. Someone is going to have to explain that to me! SO glad those implants are out... Hope everyone is happy and healing well.

A bit of a snag... PO day 12

I did fine sleeping on my back the first 4-5 days, but now I wake up 4-6 times a night. I was practically crying when I visited my PS today from the cumulative lack of sleep. She gave me an Rx for a few Ambient to tide me over. I got down there to pick it up and realized I had misplaced my ID cards so couldn't pick it up at the pharmacy!!! Now with no sleep I m trying to run down where I could have possibly dropped them. I wish I could sleep on my side but it pulls and burns when i have accidentally roiled over.

I'm so sorry. Do you have a recliner? That's how I slept on my back after tummy tuck. Stopped me from rolling on side. I hope you find your cards and get your meds. Everything is difficult with no sleep. Feel better!
Can you take something milder like robitussin or Benadryl or something? That's terrible! You poor thing :(
I am being treated for high blood pressure so things like Benadryl are out for me. Thanks for trying to help. xox
Sorry, I thought I answered your post an hour ago. I have an adjustable bed, but not a recliner. A recliner I am sure would work better! If you have any more suggestions please keep them coming... :-)
Can you take something like alleve at bedtime? i didn't sleep all the way on my side but rocked inbetween back and side. Strategically placed pillows helped and if you have any pain meds left maybe 1/2 of one at bed? It's a longer journey getting them out and rebuilt than when we got them, isn't it.
You really look great and i hope you recover Asap! I am thinking of explant and lift after many years too.
It's taking a little longer than it did 34 years ago. LOL! Best of luck to you!
Hi lulu42, thank you so much! I have to go back next week for another possible drain but this happens when your drains are removed too fast. I am just happy that this site is here so that we can share our stories and bring awareness to issues that could potentially happen. I think you should go forward with your explant and maybe wait in your lift because you might even need one after your body recovers from the implant removal. It was the best decision of my life.
yes once it is all over you will be so happy and free, you won't even barely remember what you went through so it is good to have pics.. I am very thankful for this site too. I appreciate when people put pictures too because it really helps us know what is going on.
I think I'm too late on this but Melatonin is great for sleep. Otc med you can get a dollar general for $3.00. Works great short term.
I hope you get some rest and start feeling better. Thank you for sharing your story . Your breasts are looking great ! Thanks for including those pictures for people like me so we know what to expect, I will be watching your progress
Adivan might be good for you if you are feeling anxiety , it has an added side effect of drowsiness. They are non addictive.
I'm feeling better and can now sleep on my right and left sides. When your very tired, pain always seems worse. After I finally got the Rx filled I took it for three nights and felt better mentally and experienced far less discomfort. xox
That is great to hear. The long term gain will be so worth it...
