49 Year Old Female Needs Implants Removed Due to health reasons.

Three week update

I went to my PS today in hopes that she would not have to drain that much fluid from my breast and I was not so lucky. She still drained 90 cc from my left breast and 50 cc from my right breast. So it looks like I will be going back again for another visit next week. All of this could have been avoided if my drains had not been taken out too soon. I am looking forward to this being over soon. Please send up some positive energy my way because I sure could use it. I am still happy with the results in spite of.

Yeah lymphatic fluid buildups are the consequence of any surgery and u're completely right on the taking them out too soon. I had that nightmare after my 2nd BA with fever and needed a cleaning up mini surgery coz it got infected and the antibiotics were not helping. Since then they always drained me for "ages" (10-14 days) but after my last one the fluid production was surprisingly narrow (10-15ml) after 3 days so they injected before pulling them out into them some kinda steroids which seals up further production. Maybe u could ask your PS for something like that?
I'm sending positive wibes and healing energy your way Hun and did yesternight quite a few healing spells during the lunar event on us whose r recovering from major events;-)
September 30, 2015
Sounds good I will ask her on next Tuesday. I am affraid of this left breast getting infected too. You scared me Jessica because what you experienced is real and I don't want to have to endure that. You went through a lot.
User Avatar
September 30, 2015
Can u get some antibiotics from your GD or PD as a precautionary measure? I don't know why that time it happened it sometimes just does and other times when u're "waiting" for it never does. So shall it be by you now! Amen!
What I went through with my breast was definitely no cream cake however everyone's physiology is different so r they reactions. Take your temperature twice (morning&evening) until there's no sign of fever u're good for good. I didn't want to scare u, sorry for that!
Xo
Ps.: until it's gonna get removed (the fluid) it probably won't get infected, by me the problem was that it was building up over 2 weeks without removal! So since u're getting drained it ain't happening
User Avatar
September 30, 2015
Plus with implants they can't remove it with simply stick a needle into them coz it would rupture the implants so that's why they have to place the drains operatively. As I said after my 2nd BA not after my explant...
September 30, 2015
Thanks Jessica! Awesome advice that I will be sure to take to heart. I have doctors appt tomorrow and I will try to get some melds. Thanks for the heads up.

Thx Hun) I don't about little me being Godsend or not, since myself walking on blurry lines between many things;-) LOL I can't even specify my gender (don't even want to coz love being in transition for good and enjoy the best of both without carrying the burdens of being a man or woman; of course being a trans has its own burdens) and learned that in life nothing is black or white so it isn't in beliefs either. I like the 50 shades of gray much better;-) LOL
I'm sure that under doctoral supervision u gonna be in the best hands! Regular check ups are everything during recovery! But still sending all the positive powers to healthy healing)

How's it going? Hopefully the fluid build up has stopped and the fluff fairy is visiting.
October 14, 2015
Hi Sandtrap,
I was thinking about you today. I went again today and got more fluid drained. I didn't have but 25cc in each so it looks like we may be at the end of this nightmare. How is your healing coming along?
October 14, 2015
Much better. I posted again with new pictures. Let's talk again soon.
October 15, 2015
Sounds good. You want to do lunch?
October 24, 2015
I feel for you. My drains were removed after 3 days due to an adhesion that had developed on my right side. The original plan was to leave them in for at least 7 days. I had to make 3 trips to the doc for fluid aspiration. The 3rd trip was nearly unnecessary as he only drained 15 CCs. But it's all good now. It is best to get the fluid out to prevent an infection. Keep wearing your compression bras as that will help to keep the pockets closed. All the best and keep us posted.
October 24, 2015
Thanks for the advice. I am still having a lot of pain in the left side. So what did they do concerning your adhesions.? I was not wearing my compression garments. My PS did not give me a lot of info as what I needed to do. I have been winging it. I will take your advice for sure since I am still having pain in both breasts. I am about 5 weeks out and still uncomfortable. I guess this takes a little longer. You have definitely been a big help today.
October 24, 2015
I cannot tell you how many compression bras I bought after my surgery looking for something to keep me compressed but not so much that it was uncomfortable. I wore an ace bandage wrapped around my breasts during the day and also slept in it for almost 2 weeks then by the 3rd week I wore a sports bra during the day and the ace bandage at night. The sports bras that feel the best for me: Danskin and Jockey. They only feel comfortable with the inserts pulled out. Until you are all set with the fluid I would suggest wearing a sports bra that will keep you feeling secure. As far as the adhesion on my right breast I was told to massage and be patient as it can take 6-12 months to see full results.
October 24, 2015
I forgot to say that I am 3 1/2 weeks out and still feel quite sore and have some random sharp pains. I guess some women recover very fast and others take longer especially if there is complication with fluid (Seroma).
October 25, 2015
I did buy a ton of sports bras I wear different ones during the day than I do at night. They do seem to help. I just wanted to be father alone than this but with me having to go and get fluid drained for 4 weeks straight really seemed to slow down my recovery. I am uncomfortable but trying to push ahead. I did go and put back on the ace bandage and that did help with some of the discomfort. I think I may go back one more time just to be sure that everything is good. I am kicking myself for even getting these implants in the first place. I am glad to hear from you.
October 25, 2015
Same exact thing here. Still very sore especially at the incision site along with breast pain. I am sure with the Seroma we experienced it is taking longer than the norm. Stay in touch so we can compare notes.
November 20, 2015
Has the fluid build up finally stopped? Hope you are fluffing and feeling good.

It struck me on march 26th. Id been doing asthanga for 2-3 weeks then. Still don't know whether it was the cause. I stopped physical activity ( my right breast was MUCH bigger than usually). It passed in around 5 days. Since them Ive had a miserable life. Out of fear of seroma I don't do yoga, don't work out, just walk, sit, and lie. Its been 6 months now:/
Your ps may certainly insert drains anew.
I'll find out if i have drains post surgically myself.
Just 30 hours to go!
September 27, 2015
Once I go back to her on Tuesday I will talk to her about this more in depth. Just 30 more hours. Are you anxious?
User Avatar
September 27, 2015
no. I already let steam off . Last Sunday I cried for quite a few hours out of fear. Let myself feel all these fear related emotions ( anxiety, panic and the like), some residues appeared on Wednesday, and since then I'm ok. I'm prepared to expect the worst, believe that my skin will retract SUBSTANTIALLY within the following 6-8months. Plan B includes reimplanting but I pray I won't have to have it done. I really dislike the very concept of fake stuff. 9 years of embarrassement, and shame is enough. Never do I want to feel like a fraudster again.
September 27, 2015
Vi so pray that you don't have to reimplant. They are not safe. I see on T.V. that a lot of women are doing fat transfer. I don't know if that is an option for you but if you feel you just have to do something down the road please consider that instead. At least the fat will come from your own body. I have more women than ever that is telling me that I look great. The men are still looking as well. Not saying that any of it means anything to me because I am happily married for thirty years; but the point that I am trying to make is that my big huge breast did not define me. I get the same response with or without them. I feel more confident without them so I wouldn't change a thing. I think once I heal I will be a B cup and I am just fine with that look. I feel beautiful just the way I am and that is 100% all natural.
User Avatar
September 27, 2015
I love small breasts:)) Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Emma Robertson. Funnily I only felt great and still do ( have just come back from the swimming pool, and it is what I was wearing today) when I wear a very tight-fitting sports bra by Berlei.
I'm 5.6 , and weigh 110-114 lbs- I don't have a gram redundant fat. it doesn't matter though. I honestly believe I am going to love myself at last. The moment I realized fully my BA decision was on account of not having worked through a post traumatic stress disorder that a disease I suffered from in 1996 plunged me in after I had recovered physically I realized I am very likely to be free from self-loath at last.
I'm only praying my skin retracts substantially within 6-8 months. So many womne's does so why not mine?
Btw, you cannot imagine how your admission to loving/accepting yourself the way you are makes me happy.

I'm sorry to butt in (again) but Marmolada didn't have any health issues with hers, she just didn't like the results; her worlds. And it's safe for 99% which means that it is safe! Health issues coz of them belong to the rare category and thx God not to the common one. Plus even that rare category is divided between speculation and medically proven facts. Fat transfer is a good idea in principe however it goes away during the years and having constant operations to keeping it up it's much more risky &unhealthy then getting silicone gel implants in every 25+ years (by the newest generation of implants) so if someone desires permanent breast augmentation implants are the only way to go! I'm happy that u're happy without them, many of us wouldn't be so until instantaneous and permanent breast growth by design with pills or injection ain't discovered that's what we have and damn happy about them coz 60 years ago wasn't even this available. Good luck on your recovery!

hey Jess, I am free from health problems on account of implants too. Just dislike the way they look, and therefore I'm hopeful I haven't done any irreversible harm to my breasts. I wan to remain implant free after removal, and trust it is by all means my destiny:)))

Jessica, you make a great point. There is a rare breed like me who have issues with their implants. Some people are sensituve and others seem to never have any issues. I have not done a lot of homework on fat transfer other than to watch it on a lot of plastic surgery shows that air in television. Most people seem to be pleased with it. I do believe that in time it would prove to be beneficial. I just feel we all are here to be of support to one another and we are to be an encouragement to those that are struggling with a decision. We can give our opinion but the final decision is there's and we should make sure they strong mentally going into their procedures. I am recovering so positive energy and feedback is a must for good healing. You sound like you really do your homework and I am impressed with that a lot just use all that wonderful knowledge to bless others. Thank you for the insight. I appreciate you.
September 27, 2015
I agree with Jessica. You are going to look awesome. Just give your-body time to heal. I send Healing Angels to your side and I pray that everything will fall back into place where it is supposed to be. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are inside - out because you are.

Exactly) wish u both a healthy and wonderful recovery! I just don't like generalization about anything;-) coz everyone and everything is unique in her/his/its own way. Yes they made amazing advances by fat transfer in the last 20 years and if u look up BEAVA External Breast Tissue Expander/Enhancer System then u gonna see by usinf it the transferred tissue survival rate is up till 80%, however loosing weight always affects that. Maybe in the next 20 years they gonna perfect it, although except if they gonna be able to change the structure of the tissue then fat gonna remain fat and gonna react accordingly to its nature. But there gonna be other ways around 2040 I'm quite sure about that, the question is whether or not r we still exist or being still interested by then? Smile

I am sorry if my posts lead you to believe that I was generalizing. I think most of the women that have responded to my post were going through or about to go through what I have just experienced and that was the audience that I was appealing too. The hard thing about these forms is that everyone reads the posts but can interpret what is being written in different ways. At the end ad long as we are positive and encourage one another I say no harm no foul. I think we all mean well but we all process things differently and that is what sets us apart. We have this new PS show that is new called Atlantic Plastic and they are doing Fat Transfer like crazy. If you can Utube it check out the shows they are something else. Well I am headed back to work tomorrow so please continue to send some positive thoughts my way. Stay Sweet.

I'll most certainly do that Hun! Positive thoughts and healing wibes! Pls take it easy with the work as much as it gonna be possible. No u're right I took it in a generalizing way coz I thought u mean that they r generally toxic to everyone. And yes I read to many fanatics's posts whose r making serious and ridiculous medical errors and judgments. U're clearly not one of those I see that now ;o)
If u wanna really know about fat transfer look up on Google the homepage of Dr.Khouri

Hi Jessica, how are you today? Did you take any pictures of the lunar event? I bet it was amazing. Send me a picture I want to see. It was my first day at work today and it was good. I put my computer on do not disturb and took some required training. I made sure I took it super easy. How was your day?
User Avatar

Hi Hun! Oh I'm sorry I didn't think of taking pictures, honestly it's not really my thing, since I have a very visual mind and can easily recall even the first lunar eclipse what I watched with my granny almost 30 years ago as a child ;-)
So I don't snap pics, except in the mirror;-) LOL
Thx, I had to have some dental work done so that wasn't fun but it's necessary:-/
Otherwise my night ain't over yet since I choose always the night shifts.
I'm glad that u were able to take it easy; it's very important during recovery after major surgeries.

2 Week Update

goodman48
So I am at the two week mark after explant and I had a small setback. I ended back up at my PS because I was having a lot of pain in my breast. She ended up removing 70cc of fluid from my right and 125cc of fluid from my left breast. I only had my drains in for 24 hours after explant with a total capsualectomy and it was not enough time for my breast to rid itself of all fluid. I plan on going back next week to get more fluid drained if need be. Don't be afraid to speak up if something feels off . The pain from the fluid buildup was very intense and I have not been able to sleep comfortable in over a week. I pray since she drained so much fluid today that I am able to rest. Be safe ladies.

September 24, 2015
I am so happy that you have decided to explant. You won't regret your decision I promise. Although my chest is smaller I have more confident in the way I look now than when I had the implants. I am loving my natural body. I love the way I look. I will try to upload a picture in some clothing so you can see. I am moly two works out so I have a lot of fluffing to go but the results are incredible for 10 year old implants. I look forward to hearing back from you . Keep pressing forward.

How did your surgery go?
User Avatar
September 24, 2015
sending prayers so once the fluid residues are removed, seroma doesn't return! you look great without implants. Must have been very heavy to carry yours, which were really big- you obviously had a lot of tissue of your own on top of implant weight.
September 25, 2015
Those implants were super big. I did't want that especially since I was an athlete before the implants. They left me with neck, shoulder and back problems making it very hard to keep an active lifestyle. I never liked them from day one but tolerated them because they cost my hubby so much money. I was still muscular up top so after explant they looked the same as they did before I put those bags into my chest. I stayed so bloated with my implants in my midsection and now that I have them out things are starting to level out. I highly recommend having implants explanted for better quality of life.
User Avatar
September 25, 2015
mine are 335 g - I was an a pre BA. explant is in just 2 days and two nights, sept 28. I am looking forward to it. Uneasy about the outcome but sick and tired of implants. I cannot perceive fake 'breasts' as breasts anymore. What a blessing!
September 26, 2015
You are going to be so happy to see your new/old breast. I feel so much more confident in my appreance than ever. Those implants made me feel ashamed for some reason. I always found myself trying to find things that would mimiumize the size of the implants. I could not stand to see them sticking out from my chest. I have made the biggest mistake of my life right. You are going to feel great just you watch and see.
User Avatar
September 26, 2015
me too!! ashamed and embarrassed. MIne were big but the fact that they were fake ( I stupidly thought implans would behave liek real breast- they cant- they're fake!) belittled me- I disguised and camouflaged them!! I so much relate to you!!!! Thank godI'm not the only one who has had these feelings!!!

happy healing!!!!
September 26, 2015
I am sure that most on thia site that are getting then explanted feels the same way. I would be in a business meeting giving a presentation in front of everyone and had the feeling that I was naked in front of the entire room. I was so embarrassed. The thing that got to me most is when people would tell me that I had big boobs. In my opinion they made me look very heavy. I was no longer that athletic girl I use to see in the mirror. Does that make sense?
User Avatar
September 26, 2015
Yes.
Some women enjoy this kind of attention, others fake look.
I've learnt to mind my side of the street and accept whatever is going on though.
My explant is in a day and 2 nights! Hurrah!
September 24, 2015
Good for you for listening to your instinct. Hopefully you won't have any more fluid buildup.
September 24, 2015
I pray that I won't either but if I fill back up I won't hesitate to have her to drain that fluid out again. I went wrong for not speaking up and saying to her that I was still draining and that I wanted to keep them in. I am hoping my experience can help someone else that may be faced with removing the drains after 24 hours after surgery. I think they should at least stay in 4 -7 days depending on the person. Show removed them because I only had 30cc in the bulb but I didn't drain as much laying down as opposed to sitting up so it gave her a false reading. It happens and I believe that she would not have imagined that this would happen. I am just glad that I paid attention to my body.
September 25, 2015
Guess I should have kept reading (regarding if you had drains). From reading your experience, I guess drains are actually a good thing.
September 25, 2015
Yes, please get the drains. They are there for a reason.
