10 days post-op BReast augmentation
WORTH IT$9,000
10 days post-op today and feeling really good. Pain is minimal, and I can feel the top part of my breasts starting to soften. Left side has dropped more than my right (I'm right side dominant).
Had a follow-up appointment with my PS today. Everything looks great! I can start using coconut oil on my incisions to help them heal, and I can start to resume exercise in 2 weeks, including short, slow runs. I'm so excited!

What was your bra size before your surgery???
36B, but very little breast volume, so I didn't fit the cup well. I always wore padded bras. I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs

Post-op day 8 and pics
Just had to add that today is post-op day 8 and I can't believe how much better I feel. Still swollen and my skin feels tight under my arm pits, but the bruised and kind of beaten feeling has almost gone. Skin numbness is still a factor, but it's not unbearable at all, more distracting than anything. Bruising is also looking better and my incisions from my lift look really good.

ORIGINAL POST
July 1, 2013 I had a breast lift and 450cc...
July 1, 2013 I had a breast lift and 450cc implants put in. My surgery was around 9:30 in the morning and I was on my way to my friend's house, who took care of me for a couple of days afterwards, by about 12:30-1 (I can't remember exactly). Everything went great with the pre-op and op procedures. The first thing I remember coming out of anesthesia was just a really, really tight feeling around my chest and a sense of a heavy weight on it. I couldn't take a deep breath at first, which was a little alarming. They gave me some morphine to help with that. I vaguely recall getting into my friend's car and into the bedroom where I stayed at her house. The rest of the day is kind of a blur.
Day 1 post-op was spent icing and resting. I was in and out of sleep all day. The meds my doc had me on were Nucynta and Celebrex. Both worked really well for me. The only issues I had was that I had to take the Nucynta 1 every 3 hours rather than 2 every six because it gave me really wacky dreams and caused me to itch if I took the 2 together. It was better to have the pain management spread out anyway. The Celebrex I took once in the morning and once at night. That helped tremendously with the swelling and pressure from that.
Mostly the first two days I just felt muscle pain along my sides and at the top of the implants. I was really, really swollen -- into my collar bone area and into my arm pits. I had no sensation around my nipple area or incisions, thank goodness! Everything about my skin was numb. It was all just muscle and swelling pain and discomfort.
Day 1 post-op I went into my doc's office to have my dressings changed and for the nurses to look at how my incision and everything else looked. They gave me a thumbs up, re-dressed my incisions and re-bandaged my whole chest. I needed to stay bandaged until post-op day 4 (July 5), at which time I could shower and put on my surgical Marena bra they gave me at the office.
Post-op day 2 and 3 were just a lot of icing and laying around for me. I had friends come by post-op day 2, which was a nice distraction. I did feel really tired, though, post-op day 2. Post-op day 3 I was pretty much just on the couch all day long and napped a lot. The pain was more about the swelling and tightness of my skin stretching, but I also had a bruised feeling along my sides from under my arm pit to just below my breast line.
Days 4-6 I finally started to feel kind of human again. I made it out for a few hours with friends both days. I was trying to be really careful to not do too much with my arms in terms of lifting or reaching, but I definitely had about a 75% range of motion with my arms by that point. The pain was very tolerable and reduced to the discomfort of the tightness of my skin and muscle around the implant along with some minimal bruising pain along my sides still.

Congratulations! You're looking great...even though you're photos are only a week post op. How did the light/slow run go? Did you feel like holding your breasts with your hands? :) Take it easy so your body can heal properly. Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf!
That makes sense...glad you're being careful!
