Hi, I am considering lipo or liposculpture for some abdominal fat areas that I can not seem to get rid of easily. My question is which one to go through with.. I have some worries about both, maybe someone (male of female) can shed some light on this and help me make a decision.

Liposculpture, I am very interested in this, its sounds great but I did some research on the internet and found some before and after pics and noticed that some of the men who get it appear to have "puffy abs". I think the idea of sucking the fat out mostly around the abs and sculpting the muscles is really cool but I read that if you did gain weight after having a lipo procedure you will gain extra weight where you have fat ie: over the abs where less fat was taken. I worry that I will have puffy areas around the abs and look unnatural.
Reg Lipo, I am worried about having fatty or lumpy areas. Also, I worry that I may regret not going forward with the Liposculpture.

If you know anything about either one please give me some advice! I posted some pics to give you an idea of my body composition. I exercise 5x week, eat lean daily.

Not sure if you've seen this but it is somewhat informative as far as liposculpture of the male abdominal area:

I would recommend going to a couple consultations with plastic surgeons you are interested in- they can give you the pros and cons of each procedure.  Either way- keep us posted on what you decide to do!

Great article Jill, this is the worry that I have: " Chicago plastic surgeon Dr. Otto Placik warns, “With the slightest bit of weight gain, the remaining normal fat can grow a somewhat grotesque appearance with irregularities.” This sentence is why I was thinking about just getting normal lipo. I will keep up with my research for now :)

That is interesting.  It would be a good question for the Doctor Q&A- what are the pros and cons of each/which one would be better for your situation.  If you are interested you can ask them here:

hi, my advice is that you mentally prepare yourself for recovery (read mine), and be 100% sure that your PS can provide you with evidence that he can achieve the look you want. You must be very clear about the look you want and that he can deliver that look! Also, keep in mind that if you plan on getting below 10% body fat, the lipo area will be very uneven and become weird looking once the skin shrink wraps to that area. There are examples of body builders that show this on youtube. Many such videos are labeled "botched liposuction", but they are not botched at all, just what naturally happens when you shrink down your body fat percentage. best wishes.

You look pretty good already. You should try 16 hour fasting for a couple of months to drop the excess weight and you'll save money.
