4 days post VSG op

Well that's finally done n dusted and now to get some serious weight loss registered. My husband told his friends I was having surgery because of a mid life crisis, and I suppose I was, but not how he meant. It was more of an epiphany - a realisation that if I didn't make this effort like my mum I was going to be taken way too early, and I want to watch my grandkids get married and have their own kids. The op went well, my surgeon is an awesome woman, and being a mother herself knew what my goal was. I suffered some nausea but that was from the pain relief. Once that was stopped it was fine. I didn't realise I would have to have blood thinner every day I was hospitalised but if that's a precaution I needed, so be it. The gas build up is a little uncomfortable and a very helpful nurse gave me a heat pack for my shoulder that unfortunately was too hot and left a lovely scald mark. I have to become familiar with how much I can consume to prevent me overeating. My head is saying eat more, that's not enough but the new stomach is not agreeing with the glutton head thank goodness. Just some tweaking to get them in unison and it should be fine. Just wondering though, still no bowel movement after 4 days, should I be asking for a laxative????

Pre-op optifast regime

Hi folks, I have started the optifast diet and it has had its ups and down. I must be a [RS bleep] as I have been baking cakes and cupcakes for my family, and that was my downfall before I opted for the sleeve. How perverse that I am now having to watch everyone eat the cakes I have been cooking. So far ok with Optifast. My dietician has said I am to have 5 meals, B, MT, L, AT, D. I can have 2 cups vegetables and 1 tsp oil with my Optifast for lunch and dinner. I had a real battle with myself when my son ordered a pizza for dinner. But I persevered as I just want to give myself the best chance at being a slim me after the surgery. I am wondering if anyone had prepared paleo bone broth for after surgery. If I skim off any fat and strain out the vegetables, will this be suitable for me after the op??
I will be posting pics soon, if I can find any that don't make me look like a behemoth.

Confirmed date

OMG, my surgeon has called and told me my date for surgery is 6 November 2015!!! Wow, it's going to be a reality, not a possibility. Butterfly's in the pit of my tummy. Can you VSG pros tell me what I should be doing to the lead up? I have an appointment with a dietitian 21 October for the pre-op diet schedule, should I be eating certain foods before, or doing certain exercises, HELP lol.
