I had a large armenian-roman nose (with a high & obvious nasal hump) for a very long time ????
My younger sister didnt have the same nose as mine. My dad had a similar nose but it was smaller than mine. So i was the "outstanding" daughter in the family. This made me shy when in public. And i can still remember when i was in Uni, i was really shy to do presentations because of my nose. Anyway, went for a few consults since 2014. Was about to get it done in thailand end of 2014 because the price was too high here and most of the doctors said they could only bring down the height of my nose by a small margin only...but had to cancel due to work issues. Then in 2015 had a consult with Dr Faizal Anwar at Dermamed in Melbourne. I was satisfied with the level of knowledge & experience he had. And of couse i was happy with the charges in total. Did some online research and found this online site. Then i got worried that he might stuff up my nose. That really made me sad because i thought finally i could get my nose done within my budget in Melbourne itself. Anyway, started chatting online with some of Dr Faizal Anwar's patients who already had their rhinoplasty done and to be honest i was really surprised with their positive feedback! Some sent me their pictures & a few of them did upload positive comments about his work on realself. So finally i went ahead with the rhinoplasty surgery on 6th of Jan 2016. It was quite a scary experience waiting in the recovery room before entering the operating room ???? . Dr Anwar came by had a chat with me & calmed me down. That really helped. Once i was on the operating table i was put under by Dr Sharon, who was the anaesthetist. I woke up 3 hours later with my nose bandaged & nostrils filled up with a sponge like material. That was the most uncomfortabke feeling in the world for me! I had to breath through my mouth. Urghhhh. Was really hard to sleep. The pain was bearable for me but the blocked nostrils was making me go insane. Was told not to touch anything in the nostrils and those sponge like things would dissolve. 2 weeks went by quite fast for me. Then the review day came. Dr Anwar took off the nasal splint for me & also help clear up my nostrils. What a relief it was to be able to breath again through my nostrils! Pheww! Then i looked in the mirror & my nasal hump was gone! But the whole nose was still swollen. I was advised that it will take roughly 3-6 months for the swelling to settle down properly. And since then i have been seeing improvement on my nose bit by bit every week. It has been 3 months plus now and i really like my nose. It has definitely boosted up my self confidence. I am very happy with the results. I love my new nose. And at Dermamed you can email in & request for your before-after pictures. And i was shocked to see the change! Dr Faizal Anwar came across very professional & experienced. He explained the procedure clearly & repeated the risks involved for me to understand fully what i would go through. He was very particular in letting me know what are reasonable expectations after the surgery. He made me feel very comfortable and this made me feel confident with him. Only thing is the wait time to see Dr Faizal Anwar. It can be quite long before you get a consult/surgery date/review/follow up. After asking the clinic staff, i found out that he usually has between 4-5 cases per week. Thats why his appointments dates are quite spaced out. Otherwise he is a great surgeon & i will surely recommend him.
