WORTH IT
I have been on this site for a couple of years and I'd like to say how the before and afters and stories have really helped me finally take the plunge. Basically, I'd put on 65+ lbs with pregnancy, then yo-yo'd down and up until about 5yrs ago and have maintained my 68lbs weight loss for the last 4yrs. Unfortunately I was left with a lot of saggy belly skin and droopy boobs (My bra size has changed over the years from 10D to 10DD to 14F to 12C to 10DD to a droopy 10C/D) My breast tissue felt loose and the skin was stretched and I'd hate how they'd virtually fall out of a bra when I'd lean over.
Initially I thought I'd also get implants to achieve that 'full upper pole' but after much debate with my PS and husband decided against it as I didn't want to look top heavy. My husband who initially didn't want me to have any surgery because he felt I was beautiful just as I am (don't you love partners like that?).....was more at ease when I opted not get the BA with the BL.....and he let me make that decision all on my own:)
I knew I'd need a full TT and BL but I had no idea what sort of BL was required. I felt very comfortable handing that decision over to my PS..... that's what you pay the big $$$ for.....their skill and guidance. After all the measurements and discussion he said I'd need the vertical, lolly pop lift and full TT with MR (because I had a lot of loose skin above the navel too).
Anyway, I'll post some pre-surgery pics -one of them is my pre-tummy when I do a plank-wish I could have got a good side pic of this because it used to look like a tent of skin hanging down, but you get the idea anyway.
I will update my progress as I go along, but so far, so good. I'm being realistic, so any improvement will be fantastic and anything beyond that is a bonus! I'm concentrating on a speedy, positive recovery, so I haven't looked at everything properly yet ( & I don't trust my judgement with all these post-op meds, but my husband says i look great).
Dr Grinsell (and the anaesthetist) were phenomenal on the day of surgery, so I couldn't be in better hands going forward. I wasn't overly nervous on the day because I felt like I had so many thorough discussions with Drs. The first & second day post-op were not easy (ab & back pain, nausea, extreme tiredness, etc) but everything is progressing and I'm feeling better and I'm more mobile. Normally I don't like take any pain killers etc, but I don't want to be a hero in this situation, so I'm following all my the Dr's instructions!

I am 6 days ️post op from my TT & body lipo. I'm a lot older, 56, but you will be amazed about how better you will feel about your self, especially after you notice results in the healing process.

I had to go back to work today. I really felt so exhausted rolling my hair & putting on makeup. I had to lay down & rest. My boyfriend drove me which was a huge help. I just got home & took my compression garment off & have my legs propped up. I hate to put it back on!!!

$21-22K AUD. PS fee was $14K and then the remaining fee were hospital & anaesthetist. Money well spent for the best professionals!

Starting to feel better and it's fantastic to see that the layers of loose skin are GONE! My breasts are healing beautifully too.

The skin marks and lines in the pics are from the garment and binder.

Just over 3 weeks post op

Most of the dressing have been removed & I've started scar management as advised by my PS. I've been in on a weekly basis thus far & I always have a few questions.....which is probably really annoying for Dr Grinsell; but I've always believed that the only dumb question is the question you don't ask! Anyway, my questions are always answered by Dr Grinsell or by one of his lovely staff.....their post op care has been fantastic.
I'll post a couple of breast pics....one is the droopy before pic & then the perkier post op pic.
At the moment I look & feel a bit like a patchwork quilt (a bit ragged & disjointed) & I can't wait for everything to go back to normal.... especially with my home, work & sleep routines.
I'm still a bit hunched over, but it's improving each day. I went back to my desk job a week ago and people (fellow staff & strangers) were commenting that I didn't look well?? Who does that??? Sometimes it would be nice if people kept their opinion to themselves!
Can only improve from here. Looking forward to seeing some nice changes with everything.

Wow!!! You look beautiful!! How are you feeling? I had my TT on 10/4. It's been great but really sapped the energy out of me!

Thank-you. I'm still pretty tired too; especially after I've been to work. I'm still not sleeping great either. I'm only getting around 4-5hrs sleep each night. I'd like that to get back to 7hrs......I think I will feel a lot better once I'm back to my old routines :)

Wow. You look great! I cant wait to start fitting 2 piece swimsuits as well. I had mine on Nov2 and I am still very swollen at this point. Based on the photos, You do not look like you are swollen at all. Your tummy looks so smooth and nice. I havent been sleeping well after surgery as well but I know we will get back there. We took a lot of beating on our surgery and our body needs time to heal. Wishing you happy healing on your journey!

Thank you. The swelling is strange & I realise I probably have many weeks left with it. Some days it's better than others, but I still fit into my clothes & nobody has noticed the swelling. In fact people have said I look too thin (I lost about 6lbs 2 weeks after the surgery). Unfortunately like most women in their forties, the weight seems to go straight from the face.
I hope you continue to improve with your healing too. 6 weeks seems to be when you turn the corner, so not long for you now!
