I have been thinking about having a rhinoplasty for many years, however it was never a priority and there was a time when I didn't care at all. About 6 months ago I brought it up casually with my mum mentioning that if I was to ever get anything done I would get a rhinoplasty. My mum was surprisingly supportive about the whole thing and I began taking the possibility seriously. She aslo helped me with the funding which was impossible to do on my own.
I found Dr. Greensmith after a few non successful consultations with other doctors. He was very straight talking practical and realistic, and we also agreed on what the best changes were.
I did a lot of research and had a good idea of what I wanted. My Goals were:
- Remove the hump on the bridge.
- de-project the tip.
- Raise the tip slightly.
-Improve breathing and correct deviated septum.
- Dr. Greensmith suggested I also reduce the size of the tip and have a temporalis fascia graft layed over the bridge to help thicken my very thin skin.
I was very happy with the 3d images that he produced and decided to book the proceedure with him in December '15.
I had a pretty typical if not easy recovery, very minimal bruising and swelling, practically no bleeding.
I am now 3.5 weeks out and the results speak for themselves I am super happy!!!
I didn't want a tiny button nose, I still wanted to look like myself just a more refined version.
I hope the results don't change too much from now on because I am so happy now.
I was also apprehensive about how friends and family would react, but everyone has been so positive about it and supportive. I think plastic surgery is slowly losing its stigma as a rich persons vein indulgence and becoming normalized and accepted. I am pro choice for people to do whatever they like and this site has been fantastic resource and a supportive community.
Thanks for reading.
feel free to ask me any questions :)
