I've always had teeth i was embarrassed about and always self conscious. I got teased through school on and off and even in my working life I've had to deal with a...holes thinking its okay to make people feel bad about themselves.
So I've wanted to have this done since i was 15 (15 years ago).
I am getting married later in the year and my partner said 'well now is the time to do it" so with her blessing off i went.

Yesterday i had the vaneers fitted and to be honest im not sure how much i like them. I always had this thought that i would walk out with a smile i couldn't get rid off. Instead i feel a little strange. Like im not used to having nice teeth. Will they grow on me? I sure hope so.
Let me know what you all think. I'll put a before and after photo here.
I guess i just need some reassurance. My partner loves them im just not convinced yet.

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

Thanks for sharing your story. So you have your temporary veneers on now?

August 18, 2015
No. There were no temps put on. Went straight to the permanents. Don't get me wrong it's a huge improvement im just struggling to "love" them. I think im in the adjustment period. As I'm getting more used to it I'm liking them more and more.

I understand. It must be really strange. I think a lot of people struggle with how "perfect" they look when they first get them. For what it's worth, I think they look great!

They look great from here! The color looks great and from what I can see they are shaped nicely. It will take time to get use to them.

Thanks the dentist did do an amazing job! I'm getting more confident every day that goes by. Its a strange feeling at first almost like you have to learn to smile again like you forget you now have a nice smile.
Plus when you have waited 15 years to have something done and when it finnaly happens its kind of a sureal feeling.
Thanks for your positive vibes

It can take months, so be patient with yourself. You and your fiancé are both very beautiful. Relax.

1 week on

Well its been 1 week since i had my 8 vaneers put in. It's been an interesting week thats for sure. It's taken me alot longer to recognize myself than i would of thought.
A week on and im feeling better about my decision by the day, last week i started my post as "not sure" if its worth it but now 100% it was worth it.
One of the most difficult things has been just remembering i now have a nice smile and to smile :)

So anyone thinking about getting this done i can recommend it even though its not all plain sailing. It takes time to get used to something new. Day by day im slowly getting used to the new me and i like it :)

Nice one i2icho :-) I love to see people happy when they get their teeth fixed, I've been there and totally understand the trauma it can cause at first.

Thanks man. Hang in there ok! Yours look amazing as much as you are struggling atm with it all. I'm sure you will look back and wonder what all the fuss was about. It does take time to adjust. I had the feeling that i would walk out of the dentist 100% satisfied and all my problems with self confidence would be gone. But its not the case it takes time to adjust. Good luck bro

So glad you are happy with them. They look amazing! It really does take time to get used to a new smile. I completely understand why the doctors ask us to wait a month before making any changes. Enjoy your smile!!
