After YEARS of online research, I finally got the courage to start meeting with plastic surgeons on having a labiaplasty procedure. I've always been incredibly self concious and have never been naked in front of my partner (or any previous ones) - who I'm talking about marriage with!
While I had leave over the holidays, I decided it was the right time to book in my procedure. New year, new labia! After research, I went with the laser method and it really was the best option for me.
The day of the procedure was nerve racking. I woke up early on NYD for a 9am start.
When I got to the clinic, numbing cream was applied and left on for 30min. After this, I was taken to the operating room. The local anesthetic was probably the most painful experience. I could mildly feel the needles going in. Not long after, the surgeon was working his magic with the laser. I couldn't believe I felt nothing (just the smell of burning flesh..eww). Once the surgery was done, I was stiched up, given extra local anesthetic and sent home with a goodie bag (antibiotics, antiseptic cream, ice packs, gauzes and pain killers).
This day was probably the most scariest. I bled quite a bit, even with constant compression and ice. It did eventually stop but was frightening.
Over the next few days, my labia have been spotting and both the brusing and swelling has gone up and slowly down.
Today I had my 10 day check up and I was told my healing was AMAZING! So, I thought I'd share some progression pictures.
For anyone who is thinking of this surgery, I highly recommend going forward with it
(Unfortunately I don't have any pre op pictures, but my labia minora was reduced by 1cm.)
