Lower Legs - After I had my 5th treatment there...

Lower Legs - After I had my 5th treatment there are only a few stray lighter growing hairs after 8 weeks, I'm very impressed and just had my 6th treatment 2 days ago. I changed from 1. Laser Clinics Australia (first 4 sessions) over to 2. Australian Laser & Skin Clinics, both used the same machines although the latter clinic had a newer model. Clinic 1 required me to come back after 4 weeks, clinic 2 recommended 8 weeks. After reading more on phases of hair growth I decided clinic 2 was giving better advice, and the longer wait in between meant better results. At the 3rd and 4th session I had lots of bumps and skin irritation. I started by using laser aid which didn't really help, switched to moisturisers and hydro cortisone cream that helped with the itching, but in the end ice packs applied immediately after treatment was the best remedy. Not only did the bumps disappear but there was no itchiness. Make sure you apply the packs on all treated areas immediately after for at least 5-10 minutes. Pain scale was 2/10, minimal & bearable, just grit your teeth on bony areas such as shins or ankles, but again so quick and bearable.

My first underarm and Brazilian was 2 days ago, I was so scared but there was no need. The machine used had a spray of liquid after each laser pulse to cool the area right away. Pain scale 1/10. I barely feel anything on my underarm today, normally I pluck and would itch by now. The Brazilian area I had never waxed or shaved before, shaving hence was a challenge and so prickly with hair so coarse!! Pain again was minimal, don't be scared, any place with darker skin you'll feel more pain but even that was over in a flash! I did not take painkillers or applied any numbing cream. The only dislike right now is how prickly it feels down there due to the shaving. It's only been 2 days so am giving it 2 more days to look out for redness/bumps and other symptoms.

With all laser treatment, the hair that seems and looks like re-growth will just shed off by itself, within a period of 1-2 weeks. This is the best stage as your skin is the smoothest with no signs of hair growth just above skin surface. The re-growth of those hair previously not targeted by the laser due to it being in a different growth phase or those stubborn hairs will start 3rd/4th weeks onwards, these are the ones you'll need to shave down prior to the next treatment.

All in all this is well worth it, love not having to worry about my legs, love my non itchy underarms and my clean bikini areas. I can't vouch for the % of permanent reduction as I would need to let all hair grow freely for 6 months to assess. So far the hairs that grow back are thinner and if that's what it achieves it's better than waxing, shaving and epilady!!
