9 Months Post Op

Hi All,
Thought I’d provide an update for anyone that comes across this post.
9 Months have almost past and I now have my permanent set in, wow what a difference. These feel great, colour is amazing and I managed in early Jan to eat my first whole apple in Jan 19, my first in over 20 years, I love them heaps now and eat at least one a day.
All pain experienced in the one implant went not long after my last post. I feel so much more confident and have found something I didn't realise was missing, my smile :)
I have a new found confidence when talking to people, it’s still hard not to revert to covering my mouth. The follow up care I experienced from Bond street was really great, team has done a fantastic job. My main delay was getting the permanent bridge inserted as the Lab lost several staff through resignations and orders got delayed. I can say it has been worth the wait and I could not be happier with the results. I'm still getting used to the daily maintenance routines i.e. water pick, x floss, brushing, normal floss and wearing a night guard during my sleep, its small and clear (see through) but still takes a little getting used to. Only real problem for me is I notice that my mouth dry’s out during the night and it can cause me to need a drink as its that dry. It doesn't happen all the time but it can be a little off putting, nothing major. I'm eat full foods, pork crackle, apples etc. and none have survived LOL. These teeth are strong but as always as I’ve been told use caution with harder foods.
Hope some of this has helped you.

3 Weeks Post Op

3 Weeks Post Op: Things are going well i must say. The pain / discomfort I felt in the front implant has all but gone. There is a little sensitivity there but nothing major. I've noticed I've become very sensitive to certain textures. As an example after washing dishes I was reading my child a story and I was reacting to the glossy paper, strange i know. Best way I could describe it was I used to have sensitivity to foil when I had my upper teeth. The bridge still feels a little large in my mouth but I've been told to keep a diary and let the lab know before they produce the permanent ones. I've went to my two week check up and got my new waterpik, it works well but a little messy. Has taken a little bit of getting used to it. My greatest problem is my wife goes to bed earlier than me so running this little pump is a little loud at night, she doesn't mind though. Most stitches have fallen out now, few more to go. Food update: I've been able to eat a wider variety of soft foods such as pasta, steamed / boiled dumplings, fruit cups (Peaches), soups etc. Overall eating is going well and i'm excited about the near future being able to eat anything. I have another check up next week, so will update more then. Thanks,

Days 7 to 10

Days 7 to 10: Healing is going well except for the one implant, that has become very unconformable. Some hours its worse than others but mainly when drink a certain way or speaking some words. The pain has woken me up during the night to the point where i now sleeping on my back at an angle to not aggravate the area. I've spoken with the Dentist and they have assured me that it "can be" part of the healing process and to give it time. The other 5 of my 6 implants are all fine (4 on top, 2 on bottom). Stitches still have not dissolved yet but they seem to be healing. I've noticed that the gap from my gum to under the temp bridge at the top has now increased. As the swelling went down I've noticed mouth wash can pass through in most place. The temp bridge still feels a little wide at the back so i'll provide that as feedback before commencing the build of my permanent bridge down the track. Food wise still on very soft foods mainly meal replacement shakes, down 5kg (11lbs) now since 4th June so unplanned benefit there. I still instinctively go to pull the teeth out when they bother me but overall i'm getting used to them being in permanently. Once last thought I had, for some reason during my months of research I ended up with this idea in my head that these All on 4 Bridges would be more like reel teeth i.e. like a single implant, they are not. It may only be the temp bridge but it has a large build up of "fake gum" and the back of the bridge giving that false feel. This may only be for me given the lay out of my lower teeth, i'm not sure. Thanks again, more to come.
