Finally got my courage up and did the surgery...

WORTH IT$2,800
Finally got my courage up and did the surgery yesterday morning. Only took about an hour. As long as you're not scared of a few shots the surgery itself is a breeze. Dr Martin discussed what he was going to do, drew the ink and got my approval before beginning. I also got juvederm. In the corners of my mouth and a little in my lower lip, that's the bruising in the pictures. The incision looks better in person than it does in the pictures, and there are no stitches to take out. Looks very smooth and hidden. I did take one of the pain peels about an hour after the surgery and that did the trick
Day 2 - have woken up with a lot more swelling even though I slept with my head elevated but that's just the way it goes. I have a little bit of a bruise mustache. I have been taking Arnica pills for the last three days and will continue to do so. I also got some gel for the topical bruising.

Hard to imagine that today but thanks. Just as everyone predicts day two swelling is the worst!

How did you come to know about lip lifts, I am curious? Because I just learned about them a few months ago, I never knew they existed. And second question, when did you personally figure out you needed one? I never knew what was not right on my face, and finally know its my upper lip.

This doctor had suggested it to me several years ago, and just recently I started researching it and looking at a zillion pictures on real self. I just thought maybe it would help the proportion of my face look a little better as my top lip was beginning to disappear I have tried fillers and I look like a goofy duck with them in my lips.

It's interesting to see the differences in prices for a skin only bullhorn lip lift. I am wondering if more surgeons get into this, the prices will go down or will they become as expensive as all the other surgeries. Frankly, of all the surgeries out there, this takes the least adanced skill.

Looks great! I can't wait to see the before and after "smiling" shots. I'm wondering if there will be a difference. You already had a gorgeous smile.

Thank you!

I forgot to mention I had noticeable assymetry and I can't wait to see if he was able to fix that a little bit

Looks great! Did you ice a lot after the surgery and/or take anything to help swelling?
February 25, 2017
I did ice quite a Biette all three first days but I slept so much I didn't do as much as I probably should've. How do you feel my nose is still distorted this is day four after surgery I do know we probably notice our faces way more than others however. Around the incision and just under my nose is still the most swollen

Iced A bit haha. I am taking turmeric and loads of vitamin C and have been since the surgery. I think I'm going to add some advil today just to maybe help with swelling don't take turmeric before the surgery however

OK I'm going to be brave and post a couple of pictures. icing has definitely helped it a little bit, just feels very tight with just a small amount of pain. The incision to me looks amazing to just be 36 hours postop

Day 3

Swelling came back up while I slept, but gradually going down as the day goes by. Took a half a pain pill yesterday and none needed today. Lip seems better but swelling around incision /nose itself is a little worse but no worries about it.
