44 Year Mom of 3 Who Wants to Quit Hiding the Belly - Medford, OR

I'm a mom of three. My oldest is 23 and youngest is 4. I had a C section with my last child and it has completely changed my belly. I gained a lot of weight after he was born and got as high as 190, I'm only 5'3". Since January of last year I made the decision to eat right and exercise. I've lost 50 pounds since then and am 5 pounds from my goal weight of 135. I've gotten used to sucking in my belly but when I let it all hang out, I look like I'm pregnant. I'm extremely self conscious about my belly and have gotten very good at covering it with baggy, boring clothes. I would love to be comfortable in my own skin for once and wear cute for fitting clothes. I'm scheduled for a consultation on Monday. I'll post some "before" pictures soon and hopefully some awesome "after" pictures at a later date.

Good luck. Is the price ur estimate or a price given by a ps? It is a great price. Good luck.

That was the quote over the phone for 1 area. Not sure if upper and lower and is considered 1 area....hoping it is.

I my case it was considered two areas. Every ps may look at it differently.

My story was quite similar ... I had 3 kids when I was 34-38, a C-sxn with the last one, and that ruined my figure. It was sewn shut sloppily and left me with a big bulge which needed something hefty like jeans to conceal it. When my baby was one yr old I had a "mini-tuck" and some thigh liposuction with a plastic surgeon -- it helped, but left me with dog ears along the incision and a dent in one thigh. [PS resisted offering me any touch-ups even though it was officially included!] Three years after that, I found a true "liposuction expert", someone who was only doing lipo all day/every day, and he fixed me up. He removed all the blubber from my belly, waist, lovehandles, as well as arms and back, and everyone asked me if I had lost weight! [I had not!] I am very happy to have done that -- only wish I'd done it that way the first time. Also, second time was awake with tumescent (local) anesthesia only, so I had very little downtime -- which is helpful when you have a bunch of little kids to take care of!!

Which procedure are you getting?

Tumescent liposuction to upper and lower abs and flanks. I won't be able to have the procedure until later in the year though.

My belly is your belly twin sister. I want to get liposuction but most doctors agree I am a better candidate for tummy tuck. I can't afford the time of recovery with my job and with two babies to take care of. Did any one told you something like that, about getting a tummy tuck?

Good luck and I'll pray for an awesome outcome!!!

Thank you!

I saw two different PS that told me the best results would be from a tummy tuck but do not want to endure the down time, pain, scar, etc. They both felt my skin tone was good enough for lipo and thought I would get good results.

So good to know this. I'm in the same boat with two babies I can;t afford the down time, and working in a hospital my job is physical, I can't be out for that long. I have been looking for options and I think I'm gonna go for lipo as well, but I have an appointment this Thursday with a doctor to discuss Viora reaction refit, look into it, I think if there is any loose skin left, this treatment is the bomb. Look into it. I will let you know what the doctor tells me. My belly is like yours.

Oh please do! I have not heard of that procedure!

Will you be banking some of the fat tissue?? I did that and was able to use it a year later on my face.
October 10, 2014
Oh really? I didn't know that was possible. I'll be asking about that too! Thank you!
October 11, 2014
AFter I had lipo on the love handles I stored some. Later on I asked my doctor about treatment of some scars on my face. He suggested we use the fat tissue that was stored instead of a new harvest. It was cheaper and less painful than a second lipo. When you're already getting lipo it just makes sense that you'd want to bank some of that tissue. Now that we've seen how much that fat tissue is good for and how much fat transfer is used by plastic surgeons. AdiCyte did mine and they were great, but there are at least 5 or 6 companies that do that now. I wish the RealSelf people would make a "fat banking" category.

Time to save my pennies!

I saw Dr Kreul today for my liposuction consultation. He talked about the benefits of both tummy tuck and liposuction. He felt I would get good results from liposuction as my skin elasticity is good. Of course no guarantees of perfectly tightened skin, which I don't expect. I think I'll schedule the procedure in January or February. So excited I don't know how I'm gonna wait that long! His quote was less than I expected too for all that he will do (full abdomen and flanks). I wasn't able to see his work today because his RN was not there today, so I will be going back to his office soon to look at his before and after photos. Super excited!!

Be carefull and not take too much from flanks if you want your tummy to be noticebly smaller. I had flanks done for another reason and tummer looks fatter now. I think if the tummy stands out more and you take the sides too you could be a smaller version of how uou look now. Just my thoughts from my siuation/ view

Have you had your procedure yet?
