After years of "bird lips" and unhappy injection...

Kashmiri11
WORTH IT$3,000
After years of "bird lips" and unhappy injection outcomes, I finally have the change I sought!
Dr. Baker did my procedure with Lidocaine injections, and I felt nothing -- we chatted all through the 30-minute procedure, and when I asked for music, he brought in his I-Pad -- my every wish was accommodated. =D I took two doses of pain medication during the balance of the day, and I kept ice packs on my top lip for a couple of hours, off-and-on. I took Tylenol II the next day, and went to work.
My pain has been nothing to speak of -- a little sore, but nothing with which I can't deal. Each morning, my nose and top lip are quite large, so I use small ice packs for an hour while I wake up to reduce them, and with a creative make-up application, I go right on to work. My excitement outweighs any discomfort!

Wow you look like a model. I have been waiting for your review. I remember when you commented on becoming strongers review. You both went to a great surgeon and you both had very sexy results. It's wonderful to know that this procedure can be done with local anesthetic injections. I am thrilled for you!!!

Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm a VERY satisfied customer!

can't wait to see more pictures looking good

Do you have any close up photos - It's hard to see what was done?

Glad you had a good experience with him. He really knows how to do those injections in a way that are not painful. Please post at 1 and 2 months so we can see how it settles over time. Day 3 is the most slope-y that you will be. What did you request of him? What did you want as your goal?
October 16, 2015
I sure will post my progress!
I just asked for as little space between my lip and nose as possible within reason, and I'm very pleased!
October 16, 2015
I DEFINATELY had a big slope situation! Days one and two after the procedure, I "disguised" the top of my slope with make-up, and only wore lipstick on the lower lip and bottom of the top lip. You're right -- less slope every day.

You did something smart, which I did not do -- which is ice the area to help bring down the swelling. Not only did I not ice, I picked off the glue, which should stay on your nose as long as you can keep it on. Try to keep it on for as close to 2 weeks as you can. Your incision will look better sooner. Learn from my mistakes! :-)
October 16, 2015
Well, thanks to you, I made it a point to leave the glue alone! My glue actually breaking and falling off in pieces, which I presume is okay, as the skin looks "healed" underneath (I know it's still healing). I also had a bigger nose and lip in the mornings, as you did, and today, my 4th day out from the procedure, is the first day I didn't have to ice then down before putting on make-up. =)

Great. Well for sure we all want to see it at 1 month and 2. Are you going to try for a corner lip lift or deciding the scars are not worth it?
October 16, 2015
I'm fine with the appearance of my mouth corners, so I'll spend my "improvement" dollars on another body part... =D
October 16, 2015
LOL. I hear you. We will look for your postings in the future. May I suggest that we both make sure to come back in a year or two to this site and do an update and share with the readers if the length of our upper lip is still the same? People have been asking about longevity of the upper lip lift and we need some good feedback from those on here on this topic.
October 16, 2015
Absolutely! I'll be happy to share, going forward!

Are you back at work already, on day 3???
October 16, 2015
I went back to work the day after my surgery. I had very little pain, just a little sore

No Make-up, 3 Days Post Lip Lift

Here my stitches are [barely] visible; Dr. Baker put a waterproof surgical glue over the stitches, which can be seen a bit. When I wear make-up, the stitches and glue are hardly noticed. =D

Remember...don't pick at the glue like I did!
What was the length of your upper lip prior to the surgery, how many mm did he remove? Did you discuss a corner lip lift with him? My lip swelling is getting better and things are calming down.
October 16, 2015
I told Dr. Baker I wanted as much removed as you had done (8mm), and he agreed, but then decided on removing 6mm, which suits me well!
October 16, 2015
My above lip length was 18, so the 6mm removal was good for me!
October 16, 2015
Ah. I may get another lip lift with him later once this settles down. I am 14 but think 11mm might be better, if I can get a corner lip lift as well. Otherwise, I might get too triangular of a result, given how curled under my corners are with no visible vermillion. Glad you liked him.
October 16, 2015
I don't see any swelling! is your lip swollen at all? I'm so glad you are happy - that gives me confidence- you have a sexier look. Enjoy them in good health! p.s. be careful with the make up, i would hate to see your incisions get infected. Happy healing. Can't wait to see future photos.

Like my friend, "Becoming Stronger", I had swelling each morning for the first 3 days when I first woke up, but, I put a small ice pack on my nose/top lip area for a hour to resolve that. I understand that things will "settle" over the coming weeks, so I'll continue to post photos of the changes. No crazy swelling, though! =D

Please don't be offended by this question. I am considering this procedure. I was born with a cleft lip and so my nose is already a little crooked. in your after photo, your columella looks pushed to your right side. was your nose like that before? did the doctor maybe say that was due to swelling? thank you!
October 30, 2015
I am just so worried that this procedure might make it worse. but its one of the reasons I was thinking about Baker since he does a lot of cleft lip work.
October 30, 2015
its been almost two weeks...I would love it if you could post your most recent pics. are you happy with the result?
October 31, 2015
Hi! Your question is an excellent one! Yes, my left nostril did swell for a few days after my lip lift a bit so that one side looked different than the other when looking upward (nobody else noticed, though). Everything's even now. If you're still seeking a doctor, Dr. Baker does MIRACLES on cleft palates! =D
October 31, 2015
I'll post a new photo shortly! I'm SUPER HAPPY WITH my result!! =D
