7 Months Post Op
Kashmiri11May 7, 2016
WORTH IT$3,000
Once my lip swelling went away, I initially planned to have more of my top lip lifted on either side of the center, but, after 7 months, everything seems perfect! Dr. Baker was right, that things continue to change and "settle" months after the procedure. ;-)

Three weeks and two days post procedure

24 days post procedure, and I'm very, very happy with the results!
I have very little remaining thick scar tissue skin under the nose where the incision was made, thanks to a topical miracle, Scar Guard!

Fantastic!

I finally took my "measurements" -- from the top of the center peak of my lip to the bottom of my nose is only 3 cm, and from the sides of my lips to the bottom of my nose is 5 cm. I visited Dr. Baker today and asked about further lifting the lip a bit further out from the middle, and he said I could do that in about 3 months when I'm TOTALLY healed; I plan to do that! =D

How long did it take for your smile to come back ? I'm two weeks out and can't smile at all
June 16, 2016
Wow! I went back to work the next day after my lip lift, and was able to smile, albeit with very fat lips! You may've had more skin removed than I did -- the procedure didn't negatively impact my daily life at all! Hang in there!

Two week out -- lips parted

I do have a toothier look when my lips are parted. =)

nice! do you feel like you are talking normally? that's another worry. does anyone notice you look different? can you show a photo with lips together? some people have said it feels weird to pull lips together. are yours going together easily or do you find your lips revert to the parted look, rather than together, when you are relaxed?

I was worried that I'd have to learn to sip a straw all over again, too! Nothing could be further than the truth -- I don't speak differently or have trouble pulling my lips together when I'm relaxed -- no difference, whatsoever. =D Most of my photos show me with my lips together -- check out the one I posted last night with me in the grey dress, and you can see my lips-together look, 2 week post procedure.

very nice Lipa looks great

You look fantastic. I can't believe how fast you healed. How is your scar doing? My appointment is tomorrow and the procedure the next day. I hope i'm not too hideous to post.

Post regardless. I think it helps for everyone considering this to understand all the stages.

Thank you! =D I no longer have any "visible" scar to speak of! Each night before bedtime, I treat the scar area with Scar Guard to continue to flatten the slightly raised skin. Actually, Dr. Baker didn't use conventional stitches -- he cauterized the cut, then applied a thick coat of surgical glue, so there was no appearance of "thread" above my lip, as I've seen a time or two on patients on this site! =0

Oh, can you tell us the mm measurement of your upper lip now?
November 2, 2015
My lift seems to have been performed a bit differently than yours; Dr. Baker only lifted the MIDDLE of my lip, whereas yours appears to have been lifted on each side of the "peak". Dr. Baker explained that he could only lift the lip area that is directly under the base of the nose (mine is not very wide) without incurring scarring that would extend out to the nasal labial folds of the face. I have my first follow-up appt. this Friday (over 2 weeks out because of my hectic job!), and I plan to ask him if he can lift each side of my lip under each nostril, now that all swelling's gone, and he an tell what he's dealing with.
Are you asking how much space there is now from the top of my lip peak and my nose?

Yes. My upper lip measures 14mm from the base of my nose to the cupids bow. My lip lift procedure was also done similarly to yours. The lift is only to the lip area that lies directly under the base of the nose. The corners were not lifted. Dr Baker told me he was not a fan of the corner lip lifts because they leave scars. Once I am totally healed from this procedure (I still have a little tightness 6 weeks post op -- although my mouth moves totally normally now and I have a tiny scar under the nose that needs to become refined) I will once again revisit this with him. I am also following anon101010's corner lip lift journey with Dr Haworth.

Four months after the lip lift, I had a lower face lift with Dr. Marwan Khalifeh; I'm THRILLED with the outcome!
I'd say in April my lips began to really look the way I wanted -- that's 6 months post op.
I think I saw where you got the sides of your lips lifted -- in my opinion, the procedure was definitely successful!! I believe in just going for things you really want -- BRAVO!!
