My Breast Reduction

This is the first time for me to post after my breast reduction last Wednesday, July 11, 2018. I am excited to share my story with anyone who has experienced this surgery or is considering this procedure.
The weeks leading up to my surgery were somewhat stressful as I was trying to get this done before I return to work as a teacher. If anyone out there is an educator, you know the minute school starts, we don’t come up for air until May!! No time during the year for surgery!
Dr. Setty and his staff were so accommodating to my situation and went above and beyond to fit me into his surgical schedule to ensure proper recovery time. I can’t say enough good things about them. The best!
Dr. Setty is very gentle and extremely thorough. He explained the surgical process of the breast reduction, showed me a video of the procedure ( not graphic), and allowed me ample time to ask as many questions as I needed.
His surgical team was wonderful, and they too answered any questions I had without rushing the process.
For those of you that might be worried about going home the same day, don’t give it another thought! I was concerned that I would be encouraged to leave the medical facility before I was ready or that I would feel so bad I wouldn’t want to leave. Not at all! I took about three hours to feel completely ready to go home, and they put no pressure on me about that.
Now to the recovery! It’s now Sunday, 4 days post op, and I am doing splendidly!
I do have drains, but honestly, they are no big deal at all. My pain is virtually nonexistent, and I have not taken any prescription pain meds at all. I have taken 2 Tylenol tabs in the evening when I sometimes feel a little sore. It’s not even really necessary, but I do it to sleep better.
In summary, I am so very excited that I did this for myself!I already feel a significant difference in my back and shoulders. Having extremely large breasts really does place a burden on your body, and this is one procedure that can alleviate that discomfort.
Good luck to all of you considering breast reduction!
