Having spent the last 2 years deliberating over...
Having spent the last 2 years deliberating over whether to have the procedure performed or not I saw a photograph of myself and all I could see was this woman with a neck of an old lady, which I felt didn't reflect the rest of me, (I work out regularly and have always taken good care of my face) That was enough for me to make what turned out to be 3 consultations with prominent plastic surgeons to hear what they thought would be realistic to achieve what I was after with my neck and overall appearance.
I have to admit as I do not cope very well after a general anaesthetic the idea of being able to have a procedure carried out under a local anaesthetic was immensely appealing If not at first a slightly daunting prospect.
However the standard of service and care from the my first initial contact with Kathryn (the lead nurse) to my consultation, the operation and then finally to my follow up appointment was nothing less than outstanding. All my questions, fears and concerns were dealt with in not only a very professional manner but a very caring and individual one too.
Apart from slight discomfort at having the local anaesthetic injections put in I can honestly say I didn't feel anything other than a slight pulling sensation as the muscle was being pulled up. Even after the operation all I took was a couple of paracetamol for a couple of days for mild discomfort and that really was it. I spent the next day and evening at home but after that I carried on with my life as normal and with a little cover up make up was out the following night for supper and haven't stopped since.
I was contacted the very next morning by Kathryn to check up on me and I was assured that I could contact her day or night should I have any concerns. Which I didn't!
I have thrown out all my roll neck jumpers and delight in every opportunity to show off my neck.
